Meine Herren !
Her some pics from the Bavarian Army Museum at Ingolstadt (Audi-town).

- German pilot with helmet and cloth
-  German observer wicker balloon  basket
- German flare guns, one British flare gun (with the revolver-like grip)
- German aerial cameras
- memorial placards and propeller blades to fallen German comrades
- German aeroplane instruments

Messieurs !

The Bavarian Army Museum cited at Ingolstadt covers The Middle Ages until 1918- the year the Royal bavarian State
ceased to exist.
WW2 is not covered yet, but a new category - the Police has been established in 2012, with exhibits of the Olympic Massacre
of 1972, forged money, relics from 19th century to post 1945 times.
Especially the III.Reich exhibits are truly sinsiter- the whole red-tapism to deal with the unwanted , the to be extinguished people; one card showed a poor jewish victim with my prename on it... .

The Bavarian Army Museum has a tradition since Ludwig II., the fairy king.
It was cited in Munich, but totally damaged in WW2 and was relocated to the Royal Bavarian Fortress, built as the kings last resort, Ingolstadt and opened again in 1976.
They even do show beautiful booty from the Turkish wars in Europe ( Prince Eugen) - very rare items, including a tent of a Sultan(!).
This Museum is meant to show the Bavarian Army in the context of history, but not intended as a German Army Museum.
WW1 section opened in the 1990's and has very good items in store.

Hi Des and Gunther,

You are right, Gunther certainly has done an absolutely magnificent job of obtaining very nice photos in relatively low light and through glass!  Both of these conditions usually make photography almost impossible.

I remember seeing a similar group of photos taken at the same museum - presumably also by Gunther on The Aerodrome but these photos are absolutely magnificent!
