Inspired by the photos of Sir Peter Jacksons WWI exhibition I built this little vignette showing Resicasts 8inch Howitzer Mk. II in the moment of releasing another grenade. The figures are conversions from Trumpeter with Hornet heads.

Very nicely done indeed! I have the Resicast 9.2" howitzer in the stash, this is certainly very inspirational. How easy (or not) was the build of the Resicast kit?
-
Thanks Nigel,
these Resicast kits are of a very high quality. I built four till today and had no problems with any of them. The parts are well cast and the fitting is wonderfull. I built the gun within three evenings. the PE wheels look difficult at first, but are cleverly engineered and go together without any problems when you keep an eye on the instructions.
The 9.2" is on my list as well...

Beautiful as always, Andreas.
The Howitzer looks great, top weathering and paint job. The base looks very realistic. The figures are gems by it selfs. Brilliant.

What Trumpeter figures did you use as the basis for your crewmen? I have some Tommy's War artillery figures but they are the wrong scale (and their figures are quite "big"). So converting some 1/35 figures would be a good idea.

Brilliant modelling Borsos! Just superb as always.
Is this one of the images from the Great War exhibition in NZ that inspired your diorama?

Many thanks for sharing your outstanding build with us.

Truly magnificent, Andreas! As with all of your dioramas, this one effectively captures the moment. Hat's off, my friend!
I have the Resicast Model T Vickers gun car in my stash and it looks to be a superb kit. Now, thanks to you, I may have to expand the scope of my modeling to include artillery!
Cheers,
Bud

Beautiful vignette, very realistic.

Veeery beautiful, Andreas! What a pity that so many interesting (niche-) kits will never appear in plastic - as I will never tackle a resin kit!

Thank you very much Manni, Dave, Bud, Giuseppe and Richard!
Dave, yes, this was exactly the photo that was my inspiration. Thanks again for sharing it!
Nigel, I used two figures of this set:

Here are some pictures of the conversion work before painting:

Simply Brilliant all around Andreas! The figures as always are gorgeous. Your conversion work on them really add life to the Diorama/vignette! The artillery piece is no less impressive! Inspiring work!

Where have I been to miss this wonderful build? In researching my current project, I stumble upon this very thread in my Google searches.
Andreas - this is a fabulous build and I'm sorry I wasn't aware of it. Although an older post - I couldn't help making a comment on this incredibly good vignette.
Cheers,
Gary
