Title: Tamiya Flat Clear XF-86?
Post by: GazzaS on March 22, 2018, 03:04:51 PM
Hi everyone,
Bought a bottle of this on a whim.  Would you trust it as a matte coat over a spectrum of other paints?

Thanks!

Yep, it's good stuff -- great as a base if you are going to work over the area with colored pencils etc --  but like any full matte coat, be careful/ test on proxy, because overdone it looks terrible -- like you have a thick coat of bluish dust on the model.

You can mix it with X-22 to adjust to semi gloss...
