Title: Nigel in hospital
Post by: Des on November 18, 2017, 08:05:22 AM
Nigel, who is one of our very prominent members, has written to asking that I inform forum members of his current condition. From what he has written it appears he has some way to go yet before his pain will be relieved, I send all my best wishes to Nigel and hope for a speedy recovery.

I have posted Nigel's letter to me as it explaind very well what he is going through at the moment.

Des.

Dear Des,

I hope that you don't mind me writing to you from my hospital bed and am doing so to ask a favour

As you know, I have been diagnosed with osteo-arthritis plus some other things they want to check. One of these things is a broken and displaced vertebra.  I have no idea how or when these occurred. With all of the morphine they are giving me to relieve the pain,
I lose  track of time and fine control, meaning each email  has to be corrected scores of times.

The hospital now wants to investigate further things in my spinal column and a 5 centimetre tumour in my kidney. Ena, of course, and my friends ,have been magnificent but it has all left me feeling desperately low. So I wanted to explain to you why
I have contributed so little of late..

I wonder if I might ask if you might ask you to post  on my behalf, explaining my  predicament. I really don’’t mind detail you include.

Best wishes

Nigel

Nigel,

I have had so very little to say for such a long time such is distraction but none such to compare with your own predicament.
I really am extremely sorry to hear of it and can only hope and send best wishes for a very speedy recovery indeed.

There's not much else one can say but stay positive and fill your mind with good thoughts and with lots of potential projects.

The very best - Tug

Thank you all for yor kind missages. They come at a time when my spirits are so low. There seems so much  morphine inside me that writing a simple enough message like this has taken nearly an hoour !

As a fellow back pain sufferer (but not as bad as yours), I wish you a speedy recovery. Think positive (when you can through the morphine haze), and remember the good times past and think even more of the good times still to come. Get well soon.
