Nigel, who is one of our very prominent members, has written to asking that I inform forum members of his current condition. From what he has written it appears he has some way to go yet before his pain will be relieved, I send all my best wishes to Nigel and hope for a speedy recovery.
I have posted Nigel's letter to me as it explaind very well what he is going through at the moment.
Des.
Dear Des,
I hope that you don't mind me writing to you from my hospital bed and am doing so to ask a favour
As you know, I have been diagnosed with osteo-arthritis plus some other things they want to check. One of these things is a broken and displaced vertebra. I have no idea how or when these occurred. With all of the morphine they are giving me to relieve the pain,
I lose track of time and fine control, meaning each email has to be corrected scores of times.
The hospital now wants to investigate further things in my spinal column and a 5 centimetre tumour in my kidney. Ena, of course, and my friends ,have been magnificent but it has all left me feeling desperately low. So I wanted to explain to you why
I have contributed so little of late..
I wonder if I might ask if you might ask you to post on my behalf, explaining my predicament. I really don’’t mind detail you include.
Best wishes
Nigel

Nigel,
I have had so very little to say for such a long time such is distraction but none such to compare with your own predicament.
I really am extremely sorry to hear of it and can only hope and send best wishes for a very speedy recovery indeed.
There's not much else one can say but stay positive and fill your mind with good thoughts and with lots of potential projects.
