Title: prep before applying WNW lozenge decals
Post by: davec on July 31, 2017, 09:44:48 AM
I've looked through the site, and found a few posts about prep before applying the lozenge decals.  There seems to be some difference of opinion, so I thought I would post my plan and see if you thought it would make sense. I just attached the lower wing (some seams to fill, so I'll need to apply the lozenges with the lower wing attached) and need to prime and paint it. I'm building the Pfalz D.XII.

I plan to use the decals that came with my WNW kit.  Some builders said grey primer with future is adequate underneath.  I was going to use the alclad grey primer I usually use, covered with alclad gloss.

Does this sound like it will look and work OK?   What do others here generally do?

thanks!

Dave

I used Alclad white primer and a coat of Aqua Gloss before applying the lozenge decals (kit) on my WNW Hansa W.12.
