Looks like a late WW1 German Oxygen Tank/Delivery device.

Very nice. One of the places on my bucket list!

I have an original piece of fabric from the Fokker DVII U10. My father was an assistant director at NASM from '73 until sometime in the late '80's or early '90's when he retired.
Part of his job was rigging and hanging all the planes for the bicentennial opening of the new Air and Space Museum on July 4, 1976. He was also involved with the acquisition of the Hughes H1.
He once took me out to the restoration facility in Suitland, where I had the opportunity to see just about everything in the collection, moth-balled away. The Albatros they restored, when I saw it, was a total basket case. I can still remember the wire snaking through the bullet hole in the engine block that brought the plane down.
Interesting place, this forum.
