Title: Pfalz DIII markings - Jasta 5
Post by: Monty on July 23, 2017, 03:42:05 AM
I wonder if one of the great researchers on the site could help with opinions on this colour scheme? This is a profile (beautiful) from an old Tamiya magazine by Richard J Caruana and shows three red bands - some references show white bands between the red ones and is the serial correct? Posted here for research purposes only - will be removed if there are any copyright problems. Are there any original photographs of this aircraft?

Regards,
Marc

It looks like I answered my own question... and added a few more! This is a photo I found on a google search - it comes from a publication, see the translucent text upper left! So for research purposes again - sorry if I tread on toes. A very defunct WW1 site says this may just be a Jasta 15??? aircraft visiting Jasta 5 but gives no proof... I think the caption of this photo is correct though...
