Finally come together.
Really enjoyed the build - surprisingly good fit everywhere despite being a 1957 mould! The only additions were new Spandau PE jackets, the handles and footsteps replaced with brass. The cockpit was reworked but nothing difficult.
For £12 I've had as much fun, and am as pleased with the finished result, as any Wingnuts kit I've made recently...
Thanks for following. I've put a few build shots in too due to photobucket spoiling my build thread.
Tempted now by another Revell 1/28...

Lovely, lots of presence there.
Hmm, I'm tempted by this now. There are lots of interesting DR.I schemes and twiddly bits to play with
Great work, I've had nearly £12 of fun from your build too

Outstanding results from this old soldier, brought back a lot of memories. Loved your touches and how she turned out. Congratulations :D

What a magnificent looking model Guy, this is as good as it gets and to think it started off as an old Revell kit, you have done a superb job with this build and it goes to show, you don't have to spend enormous amounts of money to end up with an excellent model.

Thanks guys ;)
Such a nice forum to be on.
It really is a great kit - you can build it in a weekend for a lot of fun or take 3 months detailing.. or anything in between. The new decals it comes with were excellent too. I only used the top wing crosses and the fuselage lettering but they are most definitely modern and performed really well.
Guy
Ps glad you enjoyed it Richard ;D go out and get one!

Just wonderful.

I am pleased that you put the interior photos in Guy so that we can all see that it really is the Revell kit, because just looking at it I thought that you had been given an early pre-release of a WNW kit! Many congratulations on an excellent model and a very informative build log.
Stephen.

Well the kit may only have cost £12, Guy, but you can't put a price on the quality of your work with it.
Best wishes

I really enjoyed watching you build this one! You have turned it into an Awesome DR1! Lovely work on the markings and streaking!

This is a really lovely result, Guy! You have taken an old (but barely OK) kit and turned it into something stunning! I especially like your colour interpretation... it works for me! Great Modelling! Regards, Marc

Wounderful triplane, so it looks like that the age of the kit is not an important factor to the result. The builder is the main factor for this! Super! ;)

Frank

Wow doesn't suffice, that looks excellent! You've worked wonders with that basic kit
I'm glad I have one in the Closet of Joy and that you've shown me what can be done with it.

Beautiful work! I'd like to see how you would do the Revell 1/28 Spad. They would make a great pair!
Is there a build log for following your work. Maybe I missed it?

Outstanding work! I know the basic kit and I didn't believe that it could turn out so beautiful and acurate.

Really beautiful. Love the Fokker streaking.

Nicely done ! Glad to see others still see potential in the "original Large scale WW I" kits. Look forward to your next 1/28 venture!

It's nice to see someone take these old "Chestnuts" and make them into an outstanding model. Yours is truly outstanding. Thanks for posting and taking the time to build this old kit.
