Hi Guys,
Here's a shot of one of Wingnut's latest! Full build report and special pull-out 1:32 E.III scale plans in WS 28/5 published next month.
Cheers,

Ray you beat me to it, I was going to post about your lovely model as seen on the WNW customer models page ;)
Must be hard to keep quiet and not let it out amid all the speculation about which WNW kit will be next!!!

Excellent! I have been looking forward to the release of that kit!

Beautiful job, Ray. I look forward to the build log. Can you tell us more about the pilot figure?
Cheers,
Bud

Ray, the metal finish on the cowling is amazing, can you share how you achieved this?
-
Ray,
Breath taking work as we have come to expect from your bench. Thanks for sharing your latest project my friend.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the kind comments. The pilot is a pre-production WNW figure with some slight surgery and a dollop of Milliput underneath. The metal finish was done by spraying on Xtracrylix silber, then hand-painting the sworls using Mr Metal Color Aluminium, referring to photos for patterns. Luckily no two aircraft are the same so you have a degree of latitude. It's a bit of a chore but it looks OK once sealed with matt varnish and weathered with oils.
Cheers,
Ray R.

I wondered if you did the sworls by hand. Looks absolutely convincing. Very nice.

Must have Must have Must have...

Beautiful work Ray, I'm not jealous... well I lie too. ::)
TY for the tips.

Very well executed Ray!
I'm also jealous about your metal cowling.
My kits arrived today, is it just me? (or all the fine Japanese beer I've been drinking today) but I just can't get my head around the undercarriage rigging.
Does the next WS include some rigging diagrams?
Can you give us a close-up of the undercarriage rigging so I don't stuff-mine-up?
Regards
Steven Robson

Hello Steven,
Thanks for the compliments. The next WS issue published next week carries 1:32 scale pull-out plans for the E.III by Josef Scott. They include all views, engine drawings, plus fuselage structure and cross-sections. An underside view shows the undercarriage rigging and turnbuckle positions. I followed this for my model so it should help.
Kind regards,
Ray R.
