Title: New 1/16th Fokker Triplane kit
Post by: Gisbod on February 25, 2017, 11:17:01 PM
Apologies if already posted, but I see that a Spanish company called Artesania Latina has produced a 1/16th kit of the Dr.1. Its a multimedia kit with metal tube framework, photo etch, wood etc parts. A camel is due later in the year.

It was on display at the Nuremberg show but curiously, I can't see any sign of it on their website?

Does anyone else have any more info?

Model Airways also has a multi-media 1/16 scale Dr.1....could it be the same kit?

Not sure, but could be Model Airwaves reboxed (selling at HLJ as Krick), others may know more.

Thanks,

That's a shame, thought it was a new kit. Still looks nice though...

I think that Artesania Latina is also the firm behind the 1/32 Ilya Muromets distributed by De Agostini in weekly intallments

Guy,

The DR.1 kit is by the same company that produces the Sopwith Camel and can be found in the UK here:

The first two installments are already on the Russian news stands ( the model is distributed piece by piece  with a weakly magazine)

Out of interest, I asked the editor of SAM as he told me about the Fokker (he was at Nuremberg) and his response was:

'All new to be followed by a Sopwith Camel'

Just as an update on this kit...

There’s a review of it in ‘Scale Aviation Modeller’ Jan 2018.

Appears to be an all new kit! At £299, but includes, cast metal, brass, PE and wood. Looks like it could be made into a super model...
