Another shelf queen that I started when the model first came out over 15 years ago. Basically built OOB - finished it in January 2017. Roden decals were a bear to get to lay flat. I tried white vinegar, Microsol Red, Walthers Solvaset and Mr. Set - after probably 20 applications of the stronger solutions they finally laid down. Looking at prototype photos in the Datafile I both brush painted and airbrushed the camouflage. GasPatch MG were substituted for those in the kit. Underside weathering done with water based oil paints.

She's a beauty alright, Charlie! I remember this one from your gallery on wwi-models.org. Do you recall what paints you used? The colors are perfect to my eye. All those applications of Solvaset really paid off. Not a trace of silvering on those pesky Roden decals.
Excellent work all around.

The violet is Polly Scale German Mauve 37144. The green is a Tamiya color either JA green XF-13 or NATO Green XF-67. Thinking it was XF-13.

Very clean build and an outstanding paintjob a real beauty.

Beautiful result Charlie.
I really like your camo colours and their application is excellent.
Your perseverance with those decals has certainly paid dividends.
Very well done! :)

A really nice build highlighted by the excellent paintwork and weathering. It's a shame so many Roden kits are let down by the quality or should that be lack of quality of the decals.

I just updated this blog with images from imgur since the Photobucket ones were deleted.

Your Junkers is so good that I really want to start mine now. Great job on the decals and the camo!

Thanks for the updated pictures!
It is a nice model, so I will use it as template once I start my kit.

I think the only decal setting solution that worked was Mr. Set from Japan. I'd apply three or four applications of Mr. Set and then press the decals into the corrugations with a brush dipped in the solution.
