Hi I just couldn`t resist to see your Ni 11s. You`ve probably seen this one... Eduard`s 1:48 depicting Paul Tarascon`s Ni 11 Weekend Edition. I`ve added some details to the cockpit etc.

I completely forgot about this one. Not long after my last post, I finished my Eduard 1/48 Nie. 11 in Lufbery's markings. Here she is.

Thanks, Bo! I do, too. I'm really glad that Ronny Bar, Bob Pearson and others have revised their interpretations of contemporary photos of the subject. Adds some color to the old display case.
Cheers,
Bud

I'll pile on too Bud. It's a fine looking Nieuport you have there. The colour scheme with its feathered edges really catches the eye.
Cheers,

Thanks, Chris! Here's another one in a similar scheme:

Hallo,
nice Nieuports. I'm attaching few pictures of my 1/32 Special Hobby kit.
The build thread is here:

-
Really glad you put this up here, Jan. Aside from the fact that she's absolutely stunning, she lends credence to the assertion that the Nie.11 2 color scheme was, in fact, a 4 color scheme. I also really love the replacement wing and elevators. Brilliant.
Cheers,
Bud
-
Hallo,
to be honest I have to say now I'm not fully convinced about this four colour scheme. Today I'd say that most of the camouflaged Nieuports had 2 color, some of them 3 color camo similar to the attached image - the only color image of a Nieuport 11/16 I had ever seen.
-
These are all beautiful looking models of the Nieuport, it is a very nice looking aeroplane.
Des.
-
To all 4 of you,
These are all OUTSTANDING examples of flawless construction and brilliant execution of paint work! I really must get that Special Hobbies 11/16 soon! Or perhaps the A Model version.
RAGIII
-
Wish I was done with mine so I could add to this thread! I gave up on the Amodel kit and am waiting on the Hobby Craft limited run kit to come via ebay. I really like this plane. So simple and small. I'm going to do an Italian version with a modified machine gun support I've seen in wartime photos. they had some very unique looking brackets they held the tripod on with.

this was my first ww1 aircraft build last year, it's a great little kit

Okay, this has a doilie in it: Alvero Leonardi's Nie.II. This is the Amodel kit in 1/32nd. I think it is made or distributed by Avis, a limited run kit.

:o I don't know how I managed to miss this thread, but as I am such a
fan of Nieuports, I am blown over by the beautiful models of the bebe! You
all must take a bow for the excellence shown. What a lovely little aeroplane
she is and you have captured it perfectly. Thank you all so much!
Cheers,

Hi all you "bébé" makers ( ;D ),
What a nice plane this is and I enjoyed looking at every one of them. All different schemes and all such beaties. Congratulations. Great modeling!
Kind regards

These are all beautiful models of the Nieuport 11 (Bebe) and it is a credit to all the builders, I am definitely going to have to get one of these kits, it is a lovely looking aeroplane.

Zabu and Jacek:
Both of your builds are outstanding. The weathering and highlights on the wings really add to the overall look. Outstanding work guys.

I couldn't resist posting this one. Again it is the Aurora '77 white box release. I don't where I got the idea for the markings, I think I saw them in a book or they may have been in the kit. I know the rockets are totally inaccurate and out of scale, but; I like them anyway so I put them on. I thought the red scheme and the linen wings was pretty cool too.

Due to the age of the deckles they started to shatter, so I had to be very careful with them. These were fun builds and a good way to get back into WWI aircraft modeling. Each one being the learning experience.
Enjoy
Mark

Sweet little elderly Nieuport, Mark. Too bad about the decals, but regardless,
you did a super job on the old kit.
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Nice coloring Mark, what a lovely little plane! Well done my friend.
Kind regards
Patrick

Mark and Paulo, the Bebe is one of my favorite aircraft of the Great War and you two have done amazing work on you respective models. Mark, Leonardi's scheme is stunning. You can't beat the Italian schemes for the Nie11, imho. I wish I could find those stickers in 1/48 scale. Glad you posted your Aurora kit. She brings back memories.
Cheers,

Two really appealing "Noops", very nice to see. I think I have good memories of the good old Aurora originals but it was so far back I could be mistaken! I still have a few at the back of a storage shelf here somewhere, if only as reminders of "better" days when I could still work in quarter inch .............
Nicely done Dave and Mark. :)

Forced to add aftermarket engine, better but the exhaust pipes still are on the wrong side of the cylinders. 3D printed GasPatch Lewis gun, the prop I pinched from a Dr1 kit and reshaped. Kits front cabane struts WAY too short, replaced with shaped styrene rod. E-Z Fine for rigging.

It was never my intention to turn this into something like an Eduards, still plenty left to do for that. I didn't add a windscreen, no brace for the Lewis, no torque tubes for the ailerons, and my favorite, the outer wing struts attaching to the movable aileron on the upper wing. Much of the old character still here in this old Merit/SMER Nieuport.

Love it!! Navarre only flew straight and level so ailerons weren't necessary...... ::)
