Hello all – here is my latest completion – the Flashback 1/72 scale Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter. This was built out of the box, in the markings of N5241 of the 4th Escadrille, Royal Belgian Aeronautique Militaire, 1917. These aircraft were obtained by the Belgians from the British and saw a long service life, so I went for a weathered look. The decals came from a mixture of the Blue Rider sheet BR-236 “Royal Belgian Aeronautique Militaire 1914-1918” and the spares box.

The kit was reasonable to build, however, be very careful fitting the struts – lots of test fitting is required and it took me a couple of tries. Even then, the wing isn’t quite at the right angle. Probably a combination of the kit and my poor construction skills…! Otherwise, it is a lovely kit straight out of the box.

I love everything on it - the weathererd look, the subtle way of doing the ribs, the photography, the model's tinyness (if such a thing exists - it's so cute).
Lovely. Very very well done.

A superb result Brad, the overall finish is excellent and the rigging is awesome for 1:72 scale, well done.

What a skill. It is looking as if it is 1:32. Simply stunning.

Brad, for a long time now I am admiring your models and this is just another masterpiece. As Manni said, it could go for 1/32.

Brad,
If you don't say that this is 1/72, someone may easily be fooled into thinking that it is 1/32 :) The pic with the Humbrol can was shocking even though I knew it is 1/72 scale!
Keep up the good work
Best regards,
Sasho

Very very fine modelling, Brad. Great to see this one completed to such high standard. I like the weathering and shading especially.
Congratulations and I am looking forward for more of your spectacular builds.

That is absolutely gorgeous Brad. Nice subtle weathering and the rigging is nice and taut...I have one in my stash and if comes out even half as good I'll be well chuffed!

Truly stunning, Brad! Your shading and weathering are superb and the Belgian scheme is unique and eye-catching. I love everything about it. I just finished a Roden Strutter in French livery, but now, after seeing yours, I want to do another.
Cheers,
Bud

Wow! Very nice!

I really like this one. The Belgian AF offers some decent alternatives to the more usual British or French offerings. Been considering a Belgian Pup.

What can I add? This is a stunning model in every way - if it were not for the tin of paint I would have thought that it was at least 1/48 scale.

You and Prez are contributing to me developing an inferiority complex. Another attractive and high quality build, showing just how good this scale can be.
