Coming back to modeling after a long break, and my how things have changed!
First off, I had built all of Revells ww1 kites to include the biggies. I know want to rebuild those 1/72 kits, and the two AIRFIX (Roland and Hanover)kits. I have seen articles on how to fix the MS-N, but what other Revell kits really need to be over hauled to become decent? I have a couple Roden kits (DVII and ABT DI) and some Eduard kits (SPADXIII, EIII, J-1). I am seeing reviews of Roden kits which go somewhat like "Look great on parts tree, just don't try to build them".
What Revell kits are short of a little sanding and detailing, and some AM parts to make into good models?
I see the Triphound needs tail work.
Camels need engines
N28 needs new cowl
Good model
Good Defined as "Matches up to real A/C dimensions" I intend to make cockpits/crew stations, so the fact Revell just threw their pilots on a swing as it were is better-easier to clean up.
I accept the fact that Revell wheels suck, and their MGs aren't great, but AM can handle that.

I have gone down one list (32 pages) alot of info.
Going through building these kits with the info you get from sites like this, is informing me more on how these planes were made and operated then the books I have read.

Welcome Pfalz Phan, I suggest you choose just one kit and start off with it, then the questions you can have on it will come while you're working on that.
I made a DH2 Revell and that was a challenge but I enjoyed it. The Revell 1/72 kits appear not that accurate but if you get few but useful information / plans you turn them into a good way to use your spare time!

Nice to see someone else who enjoys the old small scale kits. I have build logs on here for the M-S "N", Hannover, Roland C.II, Nieuport 28, and the RE8 is in progress. All are corrected to DF plans so hopefully they'll give you an idea of what is required - the M-S Type "N" is by far the worst of the lot and needs huge mods to make it accurate. I have also just designed some 9mm wheels which will be made available through Shapeways - the old Aeroclub items are rare as hens teeth now!
I haven't built the Tripe yet but it is in the stash and will receive "the treatment" at some point!

Welcome to the Forum! I cut my modeling teeth on those old revelle kits back in the 60s! I always enjoy seeing builds using those old classics, whether corrected or built OOB. I am looking forward to seeing yours!

Greetings Pfalz_Phan! Nice to see another devotee of the one, true scale come on board here. :) I think you'll find this a great place to hang out and get some great info on your builds.
You asked a great many questions in your initial post, all good, but far too much to address in just one reply. As mentioned earlier, best to pick just one kit and we'll all help you work through that one.

Personally I really do prefer those golden oldies myself regardless of their scale.I guess you could say I enjoy attempting to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. At any rate looking forward to seeing your projects.
