Title: Meng Whippet Tank
Post by: eindecker on August 02, 2016, 05:50:33 AM
I've finished the Meng Whippet. It may become part of the WWI Diorama group build. Or not. I have the Meng Renault FT-17 in the queue. I'm deeply meditating on the Mark V Male. In any event, here are some completed shots. I may write up the build on my site later on.

An extremely well made and painted tank Eindecker, the weathering is excellent and not over done.

Modeling is a personal activity of course, but I don't care for overly weathered and beat up armor as a rule. Unless they are wrecks, destroyed or abandoned for a long while. The WWI tanks were generally muddy and heavily weathered once they had reached the front, but I like my armor models used but not abused.

Thank you for your comments.

Flawless build, Michael!  I love the weathering.  Just right, as far as I'm concerned.
Cheers,
Bud

Very nice build. I like the different wood tones of the bars.
For my personal taste there could be a bit more dirt on the front and underside. The name "Firefly" should be toned down a bit by using some oils or a filter. But that is only my opinion and I am barely standart, because I weather all my models extremely.

Firefly is as Firefly does.

Warp speed, if you please.

I understand. I'm not so interested in heavy weathering, mud, dings and scratches. I like to show more of the model and keep the effects in a supporting role. This Whippet is not long away from the factory but has had some use on the maneuvering grounds. I have some British WWI equipment and dunnage I may add.

Thank you for your comments.

I have not been paying close enough attention to this section of the Forum. I obviously have missed quite a few great blds. Your Whippet is no exception. Lovely work all around!
