This is my WnW 1:32 scale Bristol F.2b, in my opinion it is the best kit Wingnuts has produced, the engine is a model in it's own right.

Spectacular Des! After seeing this, I think mine will remain resting in the box for the foreseeable future. ;D
Cheers,
Chris
-
Truly stunning, Des. When you first put this one up on the 'drome, I think that might have been one of the first WNW kits I had seen built. I was completely blown away. I still am. Brilliant work, mate.
Cheers,
Bud
-
I totally agree with Bud here - superb workmanship, Des.
I would love to have a go at one of these, but I would not be able to do the kit the justice it deserves unfortunately!!
Best regards
Dave
-
Don't be put off by this model Dave, when I say it is the best kit Wingnuts have produced, it is also one of the easiest to build, everything just falls together so easily, it is model engineering at it's best. The only issue some modelers may have is the control rigging, these are double wires so could cause a few problems to the less experienced riggers, it also has double flying wires, but apart from that it is a superb kit.
Des.
-
Another awesome build from your stable Des.
Superbly done!!
Andrew
-
Des,
Great to see this awesome project again my old friend. Just as lovely now as she was when she graced the old Drome.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette

Great model, Des!
Here is mine. Rodens 72nd scaler.

Outstanding bird PrzemoL and an interesting paint job. Nicely done.
Andrew
-
Beautiful Biff, Prez. One of my favorite schemes. Is that the Part pe interior?
Cheers,
Bud
-
Thank you, Andrew and Bud.
And yes, Bud, the interior is from Part. So are some other details, as Scarff ring, prop boss, radiator shutters, control horns, etc.
-
Przemol & Des,
Both magnificent examples of the Scale Modelling Art; the detail in 1:72 is unbelievable and as for Des' 1:32 work, I am going to send an order to WNW shortly; so much to do, so little time!
Thanks for posting these, Guys. They are really beauties to behold.
Cheers,
Lance
-
What they said and MORE! Beautifully executed builds and that 1/72nd detail......

Hi Des,
great work on your Brisfit. To show the engine as a unit is a really nice idea. Here is my 1/32 scale Brisfit. I left the cowlings removable.

Dirk,
Magnificent! What else can be said??
Well done!
Cheers,
Lance

Truly stunning, Dirk. I love that the cowling is removeable.
Cheers,
Bud

How did I miss these? Des' saw yours on the main site and that was what hooked me. I came back every day to look at what was new. PrzemoL and Dirk yours are amazing too. Really like that white scheme.
Steve
-
Dirk,
Beautiful Brisfit! Lovely work on painting and detailing!

Maybe I'll just build mine in secret after seeing these amazing Biffs!

My Roden 1/72 kit. Never again! This thing gave me fits!
-
She may have given you fits, Stan, but she sure is a beauty! Congratulations.
Cheers,
Bud
-
It took a long time and I had to back up and re-do things sometimes. The mounts for the lower wing were the worst. A very detailed kit, all details were in scale(read tiny). I LOVE the paint scheme, especially after seeing it here.
But for $6 USD from Squadron I jumped in. The final result was okay. It is fragile though. I held my breath taking it out of the cabinet to photograph.
Thanks!
-
A lovely piece of work Stan. I know just what you mean about the terrors of taking a Brisfit out of the cabinet. It could well be the sturdiest of builds but I remain a bundle of nerves until it's safely back inside.
Best wishes
Nigel
-
Wonderful workmanship on all the Brisfits. Without taking away from the 1/32 examples, which are
phenomenal, Prze and Stan, yours in the teeny scale must have been really challenging...
Superb job, both of you!
Cheers,
Ernie :)
-
This thread escaped me totally. Des, Przemo, Dirk and Stan, many congratulations for your exquisit builds. They are all wonderfull detailed and extremely well painted. A joy for the eye!
Kind regards
Patrick

Here is my effort with the 1;48 Eduard Bristol fighter - any deffects are due to the modeller and not due to the kit itself - it was a blast to build this one! I'm thinkng of getting the WnW at some point in the future as I really, really like this aircraft!

What a great finish Ssasho0! It makes mine seem so drab.
Best wishes

I'm a little slow to reply to this topic but;
Prze - Your Bristol is magnificent, hard to believe it is 1:72 scale.
Dirk - A beautiful model, to cover up such a wonderful engine would be a shame, your engine looks great.
Stan - Another brilliant piece of modeling in 1:72 scale, I love the white scheme.
Ssashoo - Incredible job, and in 1:48 scale, truely amazing.
Des.
-
SsashoO,
Very striking finish and the weathering is exceptional. You've done the old girl proud, congratulations on some really great modelling!
Stan,
1:72 Scale?!? Beautifully done and a great colour scheme. I vaguely recall my "Braille Scale' days, but I wasn't producing this quality of work for certain!
Cheers,
Lance
-
I'll throw my WNW Bif in as well, completed late last year, and covered with a complete Build Log in Completed Models. I agee with Des' comment, one of their very best Kits.

Your F2b is another amazing build in such a small scale! Lovely scheme!!
Saasho,
It is great to see this BEUATY again! It is an incredible paint scheme and a joy to look at!!

Saasho0, You must have the patience of a saint masking that beauty! Amazing
work, even more so considering the size. Such talent!
Lance, I don't get tired of looking at your stunning Brisfit. Wonderful workmanship
and attention to detail. Thanks for the inspiration!

Lance, this is one Beatiful Bristol!

Great to see this one put over here Lance, it is a beautiful model, exceptional painting and rigging work.
Des.

Sasho, I could swear I've seen this one before. I could never forget a beauty like this. Did you finish her a few years ago on the 'drome? Your shading, decal application and weathering are brilliant. Although I've already got 7 various Biff kits (including the Brisfish) in my stash, you've tempted me to seek out this one, as well.
Lance, I remember when you finished this one and I fell in love with her as soon as I laid eyes on her. She's absolutely stunning. Your exhaust stacks are phenomenal, the engine is a work of art in itself, and your finish is beautiful. I think this is your best to date.
Cheers,
Bud
-
Hello Ssashoo and Lance,
Another two great models, many congratulations. Splendid! Lance your engine and colors look so beautifull and Ssashoo fantastic build in 1/48 scale.
Kind regards
Patrick

Great topic, I have not yet completed a Bristol F2B but after seeing this thread I pulled out of the box a Roden 1/48 kit that I had started around 5 or 6 years ago, this has given me the motivation to start it again I think...
So far mainly out of the box with addition of Eduard seat belts and gauges, and not sure where the photoetched Scarrif mount came from. Engine is the kit engine right out of the box with the only addition being the spark plug wires.

Today I noticed, that we have no Bristol Fighters for 5 years now in this thread!
So I add my latest finished model Bristol Fighter "Crocodile".
It is the Eduard kit in 1/48, this marking was a Limited Edition kit.
You will find a long and detailed build report here: https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=9378.0
The finished model is in the Completed section: https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=10196

Beautiful addition to this Thread Steve, great detail, especially the engine work. There has to be a wealth of great models like this in our Member's collections, I hope this sort of contribution stimulates them to add their projects here. This Board is one of the first places I check out when contemplating a new project, so many great ideas and no end of inspiration!
