They are lovely, but there are a few too many of the wistful skyward gaze poses out there already. Of course someone might stand like that , but it's hardly common. We need some figures in really natural poses, done by 3D printing like the reedoak figures.

hm, these blackdog figures are well painted and I love three of them very much. But the first pilot with his 'skyward gesture' shows one of the oldest faults in figure sculpting/conversion: When you raise your arm, then you raise your shoulder too. You can't do the one without the other. But this guy has a shoulder that hangs down....

I'd like to get those. I have a set coming and cant wait to see how they look in person. From my armour modeling experience Blak Dog is very good, well cast and highly detailed.

yes, his arm and his shoulder don't fit. The shoulder would have to point upwards too.

Hi all,
I've just received some Black Dog figures and thought you might like to see the 'scale effect' of them, when compared to others 1:32 scale figure providers.
As can be seen in the following photo, the Black Dog figures appear to be slightly larger than other manufacturers.
I'd say that as a rough guide:
Black Dog and Wings Cockpit figures match in size.
Kellerkind, Aviattic, Model Cellar and ModelKasten match, although slightly smaller in size (third from right is a Wings Cockpit figure and is close to these in size?).

BTW - I ordered four figures from Black Dog and when delivered, they included a gift of two more figures that don't appear yet on their web site. A pilot posing with his arm in a sling and a military photographer, complete with camera - nice one Black Dog ;D

It's great to see a variation in figure sizes although the same scale. Many period photos show the aircrew and ground crew people as being all different shapes and sizes which is quite normal, well done to the figure makers.

Actually, a picture like that of every ww1 figure currently available side by side woul be really handy!
