Title: 1/72 Lloyd 40.08 / Lk.I

I'm starting a new project, this time it will Lloyd 40.08 from scratch.
I know it will be hard, but it challenging.
The most of the model will build from 0.3 and 0.4 mm plywood.

Challenging indeed my friend. I absolutely love these old school scratch builds using wood as your main material. From your photographs I assume the wing framework is brass. That's an excellent idea and should help preventing the warping of her wings. I mention this only because I've had several ply covered wings warp badly on me. Not enough reinforcement in the wing frames or failure to properly seal the frame against moisture and the covering ply will make trouble latter on. One of those useful tricks I picked up building balsa models years ago.

A special tip of the hat to you for choosing such an unusual subject to model and medium to build in as well. Your thread shows a great promise to be most interesting and informative my friend. I'm looking forward to following your progress and learning from you. Keep up the outstanding progress and a large stock of sandpaper handy.

I am very impressed. I realized two prototypes Lloyd (40.15 and 40.16), but in 1/48 scale.

Lloyd 40.08 is really a challenge. The shapes are difficult to estimate on the plans. It's a real joy to see your realization. I think one day I will build, and your model will help me a lot.

After a long brake the project came back to live.
The plywood was cured with boiled water, than curved in opropriate shape.
Cuted with scalpel and polished with sanding paper of variose numbers.

There were certainly some very odd designs in the early days and you are in the process of capturing the spirit of the thing very well. I truly admire your woodworking skills - this will be a model to look at for real when it is complete. Amazing work - please keep us posted on progress.

Your build is totally mind blowing. The engines look extremely good. What is this twin engine?
I think the new horizontal stabiliser is looking much better - the trailing edge is more to scale.
You must have plenty of satisfaction with this amazing model. I'm really looking forward to see another update!
