Here are my two efforts, a Revell 1:72 which was seriously lacking in detail but excellent value at UK £3.50, and an Eduard 1:48 "weekend" edition. My rigging in the latter could be better, roll on the WNW version!!

Don't know if this should be posted with these other excellent Eindekkers, but here is my Aurora E.III built a couple of years ago for fun. It is all hand painted, even the markings. It was a great visit to my modeling days of the sixties.

As always, Prez, absolutely stunning. I had to check the heading twice. 1/72 scale has to be a misprint.

Pezemol,
Your work is incredible for 1/72 Scale; clean, lots of detail, and very real looking. This is one of the nicest EIIIs I've seen. Well done!

Thanks for the beautiful Eindeckers, fellows. One of my favourite
aeroplanes, it's great to see such wonderful examples of them.
Grateful for you sharing them with us!

Great looking Eindeckers guys. I am especially impressed with the magic you folks can do with the old Revell 1/72nd kit. Some of the pics aren't showing, all I see are black x's. Des, your workmanship with the B/A kit is amazing.

No embarrassment indicated here, Ernie, it's a very nice E Type. Better still given it's your first and the rigging is very well finished given 1:48 Scale. Great choice of colour scheme and a very nice model!

Another super old one. I think late 1990s or early 2000s. I had an opportunity to pick up an old Aurora bagged Fokker E. I instantly remembered how much fun it was building these in an afternoon when I was a youngster. I decided since it would never be a accurate kit I'd build it out-of-the-box and just do the neatest workman-like build I could with what was there. My goal was to build it in one weekend and paint it the next. The painting ended up taking me 2 weekends. I took it to a IPMS Regional...or was it an invitational? I thought it would be good for a laugh but I ended up with ist place and best something, I can't remember. The judges were dazzled by anyone making something out of such an old kit. It was fun!

Dave, Aurora or not, you have made a stunning little Eindecker. Beautiful
job, and absolutely deserving of first place!
Cheers,

Great Eindeckers: Really inspirational to see them, various degrees of weathering and schemes and all great builds.
@ Dave: I too have a bunch of the Aurora kits and like you enjoy building them, accurate or not, it looks like an Eindecker and you did a great job on it. Makes me want to pull one out of the stash and build it. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!
Best

Gentleman, these are all exquisite models!! I one should count all the hours you all have put in those builds we would be amazed. Many congratulations!
Kind regards

My second WW I build from the early 90s: Eduard's original 1/48 release in Udet's colors, which apparently should be a blue sash. It didn't survive a move and will be replaced by the newer Eduard release.

And very nice it was too Drew. Such a shame it didn't survive the move. I had a similar problem when we moved to France and a large container of carefully packed models was dropped from the stationary lorry!
Best wishes
Nigel
-
Lovely job, Drew. Such a shame on it's fate. Will the replacement be the same
colour scheme?
Cheers,
Ernie :)
-
Thanks, Nigel and Ernie!
Yes, I'm working my way through Udet's machines, so now I have 2 or 3 Eindeckers to build. It appears the latest view is that the fuselage sash was blue.
Drew

Shame she didn't survive the move, Drew. She's a beauty, red sash or no. One of the better early Eindeckers I've seen.

I agree 100% with my Amigo!
RAGIII
-
Thanks Bud and Rick!
It's probably repairable - a wing and the landing gear broke - but all that rigging would have to be removed and redone. Also, on the original Eduard release, the struts in front of the cockpit holding the upper rigging are photo etch, and they bent. They would need replacement. Seems simpler to start over with the new release.

Well, it took 7 years, but I finally got around to it. Here is my 1/32 version of Fokker E.III 96/1915, as flown by Hans-Joachim Buddecke in Turkish markings. This is the WNW kit, with national markings masked an painted. IIRC, the wheels are from UMM-USA. Additional inspiration was provided by childhood memories of this old Revell 1/72 kit from the 1960s:

Very inspirational, Mike! This is one of the marking schemes that’s really appealing, since it gives a break from the overall beige/straw-colour/yellow that was the norm on 90% of the other E-series (if you don’t count the oil-staining as being part of the scheme). And thanks again for solving the mystery of the red/blue turnbuckle markings! They really had me going in the course of my research.
All best,
Dutch

Lovely work Mike, I agree that the weathering is superb. Great research on the turnbuckle colours, I remember reading that in the build thread and have stored it away for my EIII build.
