Title: Wooden seaplane hull
Post by: Des on August 31, 2015, 10:58:45 AM: Gunther sent these following photos of the hull of a wooden seaplane, he did not give a description of the craft, many thanks for the photos Gunther.
Maybe someone can add a name to this seaplane.

It looks to me like the Supermarine Southampton Mk 1 on display at the RAF Museum at Hendon. If you go to the excellent seawings.co.uk website and their walkaround galleries you'll find extensive photographic coverage.

With the gorgeous Felixstowe model out now I thought it would be interesting to
photograph the woodwork of this hull - the first real wooden flying boat hull I saw in my lifetime.
