Post by: Bolman on September 09, 2015, 09:00:46 PM: I find this confusing in regards to the French, British, and American rudder markings. Not having a resource which actually says "This is how it was" and by example of planes seen, the colors from the rudder post have always been: French -B/W/R; British -R/W/B; American -W/B/R which are the same order from the center of the rondrel out. With that said, and if this offering is an official source, there are some manufactured kits out there with the markings incorrect.

Good stuff to see! Also on the italian markings there is a little confusion. Our official roundel had green outside and red center, the ones with green center are french roundels from imported aircraft, simply with the center repainted. Same confusion on rudders. Italian is G-W-R like our flag. When we received, for example, Hanriots Hd.1 they had reversed colors because of the french origins. Of course, the flag under the wings is wrong, we had wing tips painted red on port and green starboard, also on french design.
I think that also the greek rudder is wrong, it was B-W-B like the cockade.
