I reached to grab something yesterday and tore the muscles in my lower back, very painful and debilitating. Pain killers, heat packs and plenty of bed rest are in order for a few days, damn it. >:(

Sorry to hear that Des. Mobic and Voltaren are the prescribed muscle relaxants my doctor prescribed and they work well, especially Mobic which works well on strained muscles.
Any truth to the rumour you strained your back lifting a new Wingnut Wings Felixstowe kit? :)
Get well soon!
cheers

Used to happen too frequently to me, even when young. Last year my physical therapist found that my pelvis is abnormally high inhibiting my lower spine from bending naturally as it should. I have had to learn to bend more withmy legs than back, which has helped immensely. When I can remember. Hard to rewire parts of the brain after seventy two years.
Take it easy and get healed. You got modeling to do, Pilgrim.

Thanks for the comments and the advice, the Voltaren works really well in relieving the pain and allows limited movement, but I can't take the mobic due to my heart condition. A few days and all will be well again, I hope.

I know the feeling all too well, all the best for a quick recovery!

Hope the pain wears off ASAP.

Get better Des, enjoy the holidays, no hard work and a lot of good moments and relax in-front of the fireplace

While in recovery, Des.
Go listen to Andante Festivo by Jean Sibelius
It may not cure the pain, but I guarantee you it will soothe the mind.

Torn muscles in the back? Now that's painful, Des. Take it easy and get well soon.
Best wishes

Des I hope that you have a speedy recovery :)

So sorry to hear of this Des, back pain is so terrible. My hope and prayers for you to have a speedy recovery.
Warren

Thanks Rob and Warren for your concerns, very much appreciated.
It is day three now and my back is only very marginally better, my wife rubs Voltaren gel into my back at least four times a day which helps tremendously to give instant but short term pain relief, still impossible to sit at my model bench just yet, I can't lean forward at all. a few more days and I should be okay.

Sorry Des but I have been away from home and missed this. I know about back pain from experience and you have my deepest sympathy. I do hope that you get better soon and that you can get back to modelling as soon as possible.
-
Investigations have revealed that the torn muscles in my back are a lot worse then what I first thought, the damage is quite extensive and will take some time to heal fully. As you are probably aware, mobility is very restricted and sitting at my model bench is limited to only about ten minutes a day, hopefully things will improve over the next week or two.

Sorry to hear that, Fearless Leader. Best wishes for a quicker than anticipated recovery.

Get the most you can out of an enforced research and planning opportunity, Des. I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune, been there and done it (the injured back bit) and it's no bloody fun whatsoever! :(
Sincere best wishes for a quick recovery, take it very easy!
Cheers,
Lance

Sincerely sorry to hear this, Des. Do as the doc says and you will be right as rain.
Cheers from NYC,

Thanks Bo, Lance and Michael for your kind words, I will be taking it very easy as I want this to be over with as soon as possible, I have models to build :)

Sorry to hear that. Hmmm... Perhaps prone prognostications are pertinent?
Seriously, best wishes and don't push yourself.
-
I am very sorry Des, I do pray your recovery goes well. Make the best out of it pard!
Warren

All the best Des. I hope your back is getting better. I find a heating pad does wonders for me back and neck, maybe it will help you? Long soaks in a hot bath help also. Take care.

Have a speedy recovery Des, I know what you must be feeling as I am suffering from a strained muscle in my back as well.
Cheers
Pete.
-
Speaking of, how has that been going for you lately?
Warren
-
Thanks Warren, my back is about 98% now, I can sit at my model bench for longer than half hour at a time so that makes life a lot easier, another week will see it back to normal, it has been a long and painful haul.

That's great to hear Des!! Back trouble is a horrible trial, and I'm glad you're back on the mend.
