Some who followed this elsewhere will recall the story behind this one. It is finally finished. Thanks to all of those who provided their support.

It`s a magnificent looking Bregeut!! An extremely striking scheme!
Could you please write what is the scale and the kit`s manufacturer?

My apologies, I should have included some details...
It is a 1/72 scale Breguet 14a by Pegasus.
All of the struts were hand made and have solid brass cores which extend through the wings.
All assembly joints where possible were reinforced with brass wire pins.
The twin lewis gun mount is a brass assembly by an after market company which I cant recall at the moment.
The decals are an old set from Blue Rider.
The paint scheme is all hand painted with brushes and the patterns were freelance and not planned out. The fuselage pattern was inspired by a photograph of a WW 2 plane.
The rigging is 2 lb test fishing line.
Thank you all for your kind remarks.

Blimey I wish I hadn't eaten those mushrooms.
Excellent paintwork

John,
Great to see this one finished! The dazzle scheme turned out great! It was a pleasure to see this striking model unfold!!

Great work John, she's turned out beautifully. The Lewis/Scarff ring looks like the MiniWorld one....

John,
My first thought was "who makes a 1:32 Bregeut??" Simply magnificent, and much more so done in 1:72 Scale. Really unique scheme beautifully done, and a very spectacular model. Thanks for posting Her, and hopefully there's more of your work to see in future?!
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks Lance, as I am able to put the time back into modeling, I will definitely post more.
Again, thank you all for your kind remarks. I had feared this model would not be received well due to the out of the norm scheme.

That's outstanding, especially for a 1/72 model! It looks for all the world like a 1/32.
-
Well that really is different!
Great job

Holy Cow, John! I've missed this one and man it turned out just great.
Thanks for the ride. Now go relax ans slap a WNW Fe2b together. ;)

That scheme is just incredible - the more so considering the scale as I too thought at first that it must be 1/32. You must have a very steady hand and even better eyesight. I really cannot express my amazement at this one - outstanding would be an understatement….
-
Wow John ! She turned out wonderful :)
Terri

Thank you all for your kind remarks. I really didn't expect this one to be received so well. You are all too kind.
Dan, when wnw offers a fee in 1/72, I'll be all over it :)

Spectacular, John. Fantastic paintjob!
Sorry to bother you, I might have missed it, but is this scheme SF? I mean, I wonder about that Polish coat of arms on the fuselage...
-
Brilliant work, John, especially in the teeny scale! I would wonder how a foe
would get a bead on that aeroplane before their eyesight went completely. ;) ;D
Amazing paint job!
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thanks for the migraine. ;D
That is a wonderful model. I like it a lot.
-
This is realy, realy impressive and amazing.
If you hadn't wrote it, I never had thought that it is 1/72
-
Thank you all again for your kind remarks.
Przemol, if SF stands for strictly fantasy, yes. These types of projects give me the opportunity to use up pieces of decal sheet remnants That I normally would have had to toss. If borrowing the image for a french breguet is offensive, my apologies.

Beauiful work. I would think that paint job would be a trial, but in 1/72, OMG. Wow just Wow.
James

Another ditto to all the above !!!!!
Ed
-
A belated thank you to James and Ed...
James, the paint work was quite the trial and took me over 6 months to complete.
Surprisingly, no one has asked how I did it without masking at all.
Fifteen coats of white paint went on the model before I started painting the black pattern free hand. If I needed to straighten up a line edge, I scraped it away with a sharp exacto blade and basically carved all the detail into the paint job where needed to make the edges as crisp as possible. Overall, it was still all free hand and by eye.
Thanks again,
John

A beautiful model and a very unusual camo scheme.
-
John,
Absolutely brilliant my friend. Love the camouflage ,what do you call this scheme ? Perhaps Organized Confusion .
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette
-
Thanks Vincent and Gregory :)
Gregory, it's referred to as a dazzle scheme and some of the patterns I used were used on naval ships and even some aircraft:

For example.
Thanks again,

John,
Thank you for that bit of information my friend. The camouflage referred to as a Dazzle Scheme makes perfect sense, dazzling camouflage and a dazzling Breguet . Never thought of this scheme being used on WWI aircraft.Ships from the WWI and WWII era yes and WWII aircraft certainly so. I do have a PT Boat in 1/72 scale (PT-174) carrying this scheme.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette
PS: Love the P-51a or is that an A-36.
-
Gregory,
Here's a WWI Dazzle Scheme for you! A Felixstowe:

George,
Darn my shotty memory strikes again. Thanks my friend for filling in the holes.

That was painted freehand!???? I really have to take my hat
off to you John. What an undertaking! Brilliant job, my friend!
Cheers,
Ernie :)
-
How is it possible for anyone to paint such perfectly straight and uniform stripes and checkers?? :o "Incredible" isn't a good enough word to describe this!
George
-
Thanks for the assist George, awesome pic of a beast of a craft.
Not only is my painting far from perfect, but it was actually quite easy to do. With the black being added to the white, and being only one coat, it was easy to use an exacto blade to clean up the edges if i painted out of 'the lines'. It was just very time consuming. Not something I'll do again and only did because a friend challenged me to do so.
Thanks again for your compliments.

only did because a friend challenged me to do so.
So, are you still friends? I can see a couple of scenarios as to how that might not have ended well. (LOL)
Really, really wonderful. Quite a lesson in the Zen of Model Building, if you ask me.
Bravo from NYC,
Michael

LOL Michael, yes, we're still friends.
Thanks again for the kind words.
