Title: 1/72 Nieuport serial decals
Post by: Procopius on September 17, 2014, 12:39:56 PM
Does anyone make decals for Nieuport serial numbers as seen on RFC/RNAS machines in 1/72 scale? I just got my hands on the Cross and Cockade PDF on British Nieuports, and I was hoping to build some of the examples seen in the profiles, but of course 1/72 aftermarket decals for this period are thin on the ground, and I don't have the ability to print my own -- or even the first idea how to do so.

Pegasus decals had a set of 1/72 decals for RFC serials. Now available from Freight Dog Models:

Blue Rider also do an RFC decal set that includes a Nieuport 17 in RFC service

Is that what you were after?

As it happens, I have both of those sheets (multiples of the Pegasus serials, in fact); are the Pegasus decals appropriate for Nieuport serials, though, or only for British-built aircraft? The serials I see on the tails of some Nieuports seem to be outlined in a different colour and much larger than the serials on SE5a or Camels or whatnot.
