Title: Any Tips On Preparing HGW Fabric Seatbelts?
Post by: Chris Johnson on May 12, 2012, 01:54:35 AM
I just received my first sets of HGW fabric seatbelts; these being for my Roden and WnW S.E.5a models, and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on preparing them for installation. For instance, after balling them up and adding the PE buckles, would it help to soak them in water to assist in draping them over the seat?

Any tips gained through experience with them will be most appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

Hello Chris,

No need to dip them in water, but I did dip mine sort-of..... That is I used water based acrylic paint very watered down to give them a weathered used look.... more water than paint.... you can always slop some more on .....

 Hope this helps!

Very nice looking belts Ken. In the end, I'd like to end up with something approaching yours. They really look the part.

Cheers,

Chris
