Title: Sopwith Snipe reproduction F2367 operated by The Vintage Aviator Ltd
Post by: Jamo on November 11, 2013, 07:35:10 PM
This is the third Sopwith Snipe reproduction built by The Vintage Aviator Ltd. It is finished in the markings of F2367 "1-2", B flight 70 Sqn, Bickendorf, March-April 1919, which is one of markings provided by Wingnut Wings in their 'late' version of the Snipe. It had its public debut last Saturday at the Remembrance Day airshow at Hood Aerodrome, Masterton, New Zealand.

Went back to Hood Aerodrome yesterday to get some photos of the Hanriot but also to get some more close ups of the Snipe.

Just so helpful! Thanks James.

I wasn't planning on a WnW Snipe, but now I have such a dilemma - just don't tell the bank.

Best wishes
Nigel

Your photography always impresses me. Do they let you climb inside and all around to get some of those shots? Amazing.

Hey, on those last two shots of the engine and prop, is that a sprouted dandelion seed stuck on the engine hub?  ;D

I don't exactly 'climb' but I do put my camera on a fully extended tripod and raise it up like a mast looking down into the cockpit. Particularly important for high aircraft like the Fee and the Snipe as I can't easily reach in. Yes they do let me get as close as I like. I polish the floor on the hangar with my back to get some shots  ;)  They know me quite well, I have visited quite a few times  :)

Sara Randal says haven't you got enough photos? But they always have new aircraft. I am getting quite impatient for the LVG C.VI to arrive from France. That will be a blast!
