"References I used to build the model:
- Harry Woodman. "Sikorsky Ilya Muromets Type Veh". 2000. Albatros Productions ltd.
- Marat Khayrulin. "Ilya Muromets". 2010. Eksmo publisher.
- Alec Brew. "Sunbeam Aero Engines". 1998. Airlife Publishing Ltd.
Apart from listed above a number of materials from various periodic publications were used. Memoires by Sergey and Mikhail Nikolskoy and Konstantin Finne gave a good historical background. And of course Internet was explored intensively.
Critics and comments are welcomed.
Kind regards,
Korontari."

Maybe Des will consider this as his next scratch build project. It seems at first glance to be quite a compact little fellow. ;D

Well there's an excuse for that new addition to the hobby room! :P
Now that's a huge aeroplane! It would be a really interesting project
for someone with lots of experience and an even bigger workbench.
Thanks for posting, Chris.
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Wow... those pics are big... and great!
Very nice find. Thx.

P.S.- This is state of the art flight simulator game. Hmmm !

Speaking of BIG, there is a brief article (with a cover photo) of a scratch built 1/32 Ilya Muromets featured in the Windsock International, V.6, No.1, Jan/Feb 1990. The model was built by modeler Bob Rice on commission by the Smithsonian Institution as part of its 2-year Sikorsky centennial in 1989. It is a huge and amazing model that took mover 700 hours to complete. I wonder if it's still on display at the Smithsonian?

Apparently, it's still on display!

Worth the trip! ;D Two hours away, plus several full size aircraft. :) Sounds like a field trip to me!

That's gorgeous! Unfortunately for me it's a later G model, so not as much use as referance for my build as it could be....
