I'm immediately drawn to your subtle underwing rib shading Des. Nicely done!

Thanks for the build log. These all top the list of references!

Simply gorgeous, Des. Truly an inspirational build. I hope to be joining you here soon with one of my own (as soon as Rowan releases the Barker sheet).
Cheers,
Bud

Des,
Such an outstanding and inspirational project my old friend. This beauty is making it harder and hander to resist buying a couple ( Early / Late ).

Des & Dave, what a beautiful pair of Snipes! Funny thing is, I never really cared much for the Snipe until you guys opened my eyes with your very fne examples. :D Now I can't wait to see more Snipes right here, and I've got one in the stash! ;)
Regards,
Bob
-
Man, what a beauty, Dave. I had no interest in doing a silver Snipe until I saw yours.
Cheers,
Bud
-
Cheers fellas. I'm just starting another today, using Rowans new set when it comes.
-
I am still in awe of these two builds! I REALLY Love the 56 squadron bird, so colorful. The detailing in both is fantastic. What a Pair Indeed!
RAGIII

That silver Snipe is SO sharp. Slide that in with some Fury's and Flycatchers!!!!
Steve

Well even though everyone has already seen it it's probably the most appropriate place for it to be.

Modelmaker. I really like the Wash from the bottom and the color of the upper area. Was he really that much chocolate?

A Beautidul Snipe! I only hope when I do my 43 Squadron version that I get it half as well done!

Here's my Snipe - this is the Blue Max 1/48 scale kit, painted up to represent a machine of 4SQN Australian Flying Corps. This one needed a few details added (like a scratch built interior), and is tricky because you need to do things like manufacture your own struts. But overall the base kit is quite nice and accurate.

What Bud said + 1
RAGIII

........what everyone's already said, with great enthusiasm! There's some really impressive modelling here, and it's a pleasure to view these three Gent's work! Who said the Snipe was ugly or "just another exercise in PC10"?
Cheers,
Lance

Hello, folks -
Sorry, not been on the forum for a while (a combination of a bit of work study and trying to move house resulting in a temporary loss of motivation) and just catching up with what's going on.
I'll jump and add my OOB, brush painted build of a post WW1 Snipe if there are no objections!
Regards
Dave

Great to see this incredible beauty again, Dave! The fact that you've achieved such remarkable results through brush painting makes it all the more extraordinary.
So, you moved house, too? Set me back 2 months, mate. Love our new home, though.
Cheers,
Bud

Thank you, Bud/RAGIII -
Bud - not quite there yet with the house - currently in the process of going through all the legal what-not. If all goes well, we may be in a position to exchange contracts by end next week. If that happens, we may possibly move in by end August beginning of September. When I do move, it will be interesting to see which of my built models survive ................!

How far are you moving? Our move was only 35 miles, so I made several small trips in my pick-up prior to the BIG move. Models and display cases made it in those trips with very minimal undercarriage damage to 2 models, easily repaired. Hopefully, you can do the same.
Cheers,
Bud
-
Bud,
Less than 3 miles would you believe - but I gain a better house with a garage and all round better area and easier car parking.
Regards
Dave

Oh! Well, then. You could walk your models over, Dave.
Good luck, mate.
Cheers,

Here is the Snipe from my recent Dual build. I have experimented with editing the original photos:
Here is the link to the build: I didn't get terrific results from the Editing so I took some more photos : Not perfect but better!
