Title: Fokker D.VII Sachsenberg modification???
Post by: -Sören- on March 10, 2013, 06:30:32 AM
It seems that The enginge cowlings on Gotthard Sachsenberg´s Fokker D.VII were modified. I think that on the starbard side the slot around the Exhaust was enlarged and the slot around the wing strut on the port side seems to be enlarged.
Am I right?

looks very much to me like the panel has been cut away around the exhaust to make removal easier yes. the same with the cabane stru openings by my eye. It was a known practice.

Sometimes pays to be eagle eyed with the available reference yes. ;)
