That's just plain greedy, Des! :D

C'mon Des, you know you want to scratch build all of those wonderful aircraft!! ;D
Andrew
-
OK, so at the risk of being labelled a troublemaker and banned from the Forum forever, here's my list:
Sopwith Camel (no surprise!)
Sopwith Triplane
Sopwith Snipe
Brown, Collishaw and Barker to join Claxton (SE5a) and McKeever (Bristol F2B). Now, that would be a nice Great White North collection! :)
Yes, yes, I know that the last two are "on the way." I just want them to ARRIVE! ;D
-
You and I are definitely on the same wavelength Trackpad.
Cheers,
Chris
-
Interpreting the word "wish" as "wish they'd be released soon", the two on their announced list I'm looking forward to most are the DH-2 and Eindecker E.II/III. :)
As for wishing for one not mentioned, even though it barely makes it to WWI, how cool would a WNW Etrich Taube be?
I also wish for time to build all the WNW kits I'm amassing! :D
Cheers,
Eric
-
I want to add two. I personally would love these and in this order -
The Bebe - Nieuport 11 and then the Nieuport 17. I know, lots of these around but what beauties they would be by WnW in 1/32. ;D
Paddy
-
I'd like a Camel and a Sopwith Triplane. I'm not greedy.
Trevor
-
I was on the record for the Tripe, Snipe, and a bunch of DVII's based on WNW's "announced, to be released soon" list. Being a glutton I'll assume these are "givens" and were now talking a true Wish List of what we'd like the folks at WNW to consider in future.
I could go on forever but in my perfect world the "Big 3" would be:
1. Camel (both variants);
2. Nieuport 17; and
3. Camel (with a token apperance of the Camel in "shadow #4 Position!
Cheers,
Lance
I have 4 in the stash and one unfinished, were surely about to have several new relaeses, and I'm hoping / pleading for more..........? Great testament to fine products.
-
Hi, all,
as I think that my initial wishlist was deleted and as I really love my choice (...), I dare to post it once again:
Dear Mister WingnutWings, I long for a Hannover Cl IIIa and a Roland C II Walfish. Thank you, Mister WingnutWings!
Richard
P.S. I am looking foreward to your announced Fokker Eindeckers.
-
I think mine has gone missing in the other thread as well, so my top 3:
Macchi M-5
Salmson 2A2
Caproni bomber
others would be:
Halberstadt Cl2
Hannover Cl3
Hanriot HD1
Sopwith Camel
-
I would like to see:
Hanriot HD.1
Aviatik D.I
Phonix D.II
Mike
-
Ah, sorry, forgot my Avro 504 K (N)!
BUT: Every kit released by WnW so far has been wonderful, so I can wait patiently until my wishes will come true, building them.
-
My thoughts -wishes:
Be 2C/E
Avro 504K
Br 14 A2/B2
FB 5 GunBus
DH 10
...Oh and a Blackburn Kangaroo!
Cheers!
-
My dream/wish/hopes is to have a 1:32 scale model of the Etrich Taube. IMHO this would have to be the most beautiful looking aircraft ever to fly. Just imagine the brilliant kit we would have if Wingnuts took it on.
Des.
-
That would be a pretty bird. Looks like the Hannover ClIII is getting a major push though doesnt it?

Ahh...I see we have similar thoughts in that regard! :)
Eric

Number One has got to be the Handley Page 0/400. They have done the Gotha, so why not? TVAL has a BE2 flying, so I reckon a kit cannot be too far away. Hmmm, will TVAL build a Gotha? regards, Pete.
-
Ooooh, yeah, a Rumpler or Etrich Taube: That would be something, too!
This plane ignited my love for early birds, when I was seven years old and read Gunther Plüschow's memories "Der Flieger von Tsing-Tau"!
Richard
-
For me there are 3 aircraft which truly deserve to get the Wingnuts treatment and they are all aircraft which were based in my home town in WW1.
First up it has to be the Short 184, it would be great to see one of these in 1/32 scale. I've got 3 TC Models kits which I would love to replace with 3 Wingnuts kits, I think I would have more of a chance of completing a Wingnuts kit.
Next up it has to be another seaplane and what an impressive beast it would be in 1/32, the Felixstowe flying boat. If they can do a Gotha I'm sure they could do a Felixstowe. If not at least we have the Alley Cat kit in the works
Yes, you guessed it thirdly another seaplane, the Sopwith Baby. Another aircraft deserving of that very special Wingnuts treatment.
If I keep praying and wishing hard enough, perhaps dreams do come true.
Tim
-
Hoping these are among the 'Fifty':
Sopwith Dolphin
Felixstowe F.2A
Hanriot HD.1
Right with you about the Felixstowe. Wingnut's approach should reduce the strut/rigging stress factor, and those colour schemes should make it a winner. One way or another, the Gotha needs some companions. Some variety of Caproni Ca.3 begs to be done as well.

I would appreciate WnW going on to produce and offer decals seperately, like they did for the Albatros DV (a) and the Pfalz DIII! I could imagife, for example, some interesting "White" Snipes from the Russian Civil War... And many more, for sure!
Richard

All-
I am confused.
Wingnut are releasing a Sopwith Triplane, and a DH2 pusher even though Roden have recently produced 1/32 models of both Aircraft. And,yet they have no plans for a Sopwith Camel because "Hobbycraft Canada make a pretty goood example"? Hobbycraft's response to my inquiries about availability told me that their tooling had been damaged. Their kit is out of production.
In this conflict, there were in excess of 14,000 Camels produced, which downed more enemy aircraft than any other plane. It was flown by at least ten air forces during the "Great War"and was responsible for more enemy arcraft destroyed than any other design.
About, what, one hundred and twenty odd Sopwith tripehounds were thrown into the melee for a brief interval. They were a great design and, at once, a costly maintenance nightmare.
Manufacturers, someone please reconsider, A worthy example of the Camel in all its forms is shockingly absent in 1/32nd scale.
Can any one think of WW11 without a model of the Spitfire ot Mustang?
Respectfully.

-
I believe that WNW had started work on their SE5a, DH2 and Sopwith Triplane prior to Roden announcing theirs - could be wrong but that sort of makes sense.
-
maybe they started firs but the marketing date is way overdue!
I mean: all this waiting, which once was anticipation, is now turning to frustration...
WNW, do your homework! Don't be lazy! Give us something to chew!
ciao
edo
-
Im not frustrated...just checked I still have one or two in the to do pile.....
Steve
-
I have always been fond of the Halberstadt CL.II like the old Aurora model kit I built in the 60's. It was the first true ground attack scout plane. Both the pilot and gunner were in the same oval cockpit tub thus allowing for better communication between them.
-
what about if they made a kit of a plane without the linen covering, like a sort of skeleton.
or a bigger model of a engine say about 1/16 size
cheers

Academy's Camel in 1/32, when allied to PART of Polands PE set, will produce a very good model of a Sopwith Camel for less than £30.
-
Speaking of the Academy Camel - I know its the Hobbycraft kit but Im just wondering if its the original release or the updated one wit the better wings etc.
Steve
-
Steve,
The Academy Camel is the exact same kit as the original Hobbycraft. Starved cow wing ribs and all,but nothing that can't be fixed with much extra effort and a little TLC.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette
-
Hmmm. Im going to stick to the newer improved HC kit even though the Academy goes cheap around here.
Steve
-
Steve,
Wise move my friend the two new tool Hobbycraft Camels are a major improvement over the original. Both are OOP right now though but they do show up on E-bay on occasion. You never know maybe just maybe H/C will reissues them again if the demand is high enough.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette
PS: I don't know if you've seen this ongoing project or not .But you can see what can be done with the original H/C Camel.

I was following that but for some reason lost track of that thread. Thanks for putting me back on it and of course keep up that great work...between vacs! ;)
Steve
-
I had this info some time back however put it in a safe place and it's now "safe" alright; it's an age thing. What is/are the Kit #s and/or Labels on the re-tooled (Good) HC Camels? I believe they were marketed as the Le Rhone or Clerget (or Bently) versions and one was (sort of) in A. Roy Brown's markings?
Cheers,
Lance :-\
-
Lance,
Glad to know I'm not the only one who could hide his own Easter Eggs my old friend. I would have to dig the kit out to give you the kit numbers. But you're correct they were marketed as the Le Rhone and the Clerget Camel's. Off the top of my head I don't recal either one beiing in Brown's markings. I believe the later reissues of the Academy Camel are in Brown's markings though.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette
or at least I think that's me .........
-
Greg,
Thanks, I'll keep an eye open for them. Figure if I spend big $ on one or two WNW will imediately release a kit that's 10 times better! And yes, the Easter Egg Hunt has been more fun these past few years and I occasionally find some of my "missing things" stashed with them!
Cheers,
Lance
-
Somewhere else here I read that the retooled Camel molds had been damaged. Can that be verified?
Steve
-
Lance,
I pulled my two new tool Hobbycraft Camels this morning. Kit number HC 1694 "Clerget" Barker and Brown's markings. HC 1693 Le Rhone with MacLaren , Partridge markings. Best of luck finding these two. If I should happen to run across one or both of these kit I'll drop you a PM ASAP my friend.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette
-
Somewhere else here I read that the retooled Camel molds had been damaged. Can that be verified?
Steve
Steve,
I've heard the same thing but couldn't verify it. Hobbycraft never answered my inquiry . I still believe poor sales played a large part in there disappearance though.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette
-
Thanks for the info Greg and do let me know if you stumble over any. I too recall seeing (somewhere here?) a comment regarding damaged molds hoever I believe it was the Academy version, not the re-tooled Hobbycraft versions.
Cheers,
Lance

Ah I see we both have a thing for SPAD's my friend.Excellent choices.

The SPAD is my favorite aircraft from the First World War. I would LOVE to see Wingnut do one.
-
James,
Same here my friend. So much so my late Father nicknamed me "Little SPAD" as a mere boy. The nickname stuck and I use it as a callsign on many forum. A WNW SPAD XII would be absolutely outstanding, especially in Biddle's USAS XII markings.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette

Yes, a SPAD of any kind would be very welcome. In addition I would like to see..
Halberstadt CL.II
Hannover CL. III
Sopwith Dolphin

Salmson 2a2

That is an awesome story, "Little SPAD", I mean Gregory. I would love to see a SPAD XII in Guynemer's markings myself.
-
WnW has openly declared the interest in (possibly) producing another twin-engined airplane... let´s hope it´s the Felixstowe F2a! ;D
-
THAT would be cool!
-
COOL and awesome!!
There are some awesome colour schemes for these beasties!!

If they'd do a Fokker Dr.I, I'd be a real happy guy.

Meeting my needs;
Hansa-Brandenberg D.I "star-strutter"
Berg D.I
Oeffag Albatros D.III
Phonix D.I, D.II
Hannover CL.III
Halberstadt CL.II or CL.IV

Neuport 11 or 16

Steve,
I like how you think my friend. Outstanding choices.

Lots of good choices there!
FYI the Special Hobby N11 and N16 are nice kits - maybe not WNW fall-together but solid with nice resin, etched and decals.
-
The A-Model Nieuport 11 is another fine kit as well. I have the Italian version and what great markings too.
