Coming soon from KP are 3 different kits of the AGO C.IV: One in plain gray/light blue camo, one 'late' and one 'late camo'.
A post war Polish LVG C.VI will also be out soon.

Oh what great news for us 1/72 builders!  I really appreciate having a novel injection molded kit on the market. I know there is a resin kit out for some time but I prefer to work in other materials if possible.  This kit looks really nice to me.

The AGO kits are probably based on the old CMR resin kit. KP are consistantly expanding their range of 1/72 WWI kits based on old Czech resin kits.
The more the merrier!
More KP news today - 5 colour Lozenge decals, out soon. These look very much like the Avalon Decals offering.

KP's Roland DII clearly is based on the Merlin Models injection kit ,as is their DH 5.
As there is no other kit of the AGO C IV other  than the Czechmaster resin kit I'm looking forward to their injection kit !
I remember the days when Roden released lots of new kits on a regular basis, and I'm glad that someone is taking over that part of the business,no matter where the sources come from.

Likewise I am excited to see this one released; I have a soft spot for esoteric WW1 subjects, especially in the smaller scales. KP continue to deliver us a steady stream of new kits, and should be applauded and supported for releasing these subjects.

Side note - KP have indicated that they may be sending through some samples of the AGO kit for review here on the forum, so stay tuned  ;D

Cheers,

BC

Hi Andreas,
Same here.
'Limited run' kits - how often do you see this on releases, only to find they're not limited at all.
Instead, the kits get released regularly.
I wonder if this is to encourage sales as the buyers think it's a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to get a particular model.
After all, why would a company invest in just one production run of a kit.
Just a thought,

Mike

Hi Mike,
KP are regularly releasing WWI kits in 1/72, many of them of lesser known and obscure types (Sopwith Swallow & Scooter, Nieuport Triplane, Vickers FB.19 etc.) Most of them cannot be considered possible best sellers, and yet they continue releasing them. I think they should be commended for this.
The kits are produced in small batches, if you look at their website you'll see that many of them are sold out, and the only ones that have been re-released till now are the relatively popular Albatros C.III and LVG C.VI. I don't think we can expect a re-release of the AGO C.IV after the first batch.

Hi Enathan,
I see your point.
But I do think some companies over use the term 'limited run'.

Fair point Mike, and I don't disagree with you. I think this all started in the 90's when Eduard, Pegasus, and others were using copper molds, etc. that were only good for a limited run before the molds were shot.
In truth, when you look at it, ALL things that are made are limited run, nothing lasts forever. Look at WNW. Ten years ago we were all sitting here fat, dumb, and happy worrying more about whether their next release was going to be "X" rather than "Y", and wondering how in the heck can they afford to make and ship this stuff for that price. Well, we now see they couldn't.
"The world is a dangerous place Stachel", and that's been brought home to all of us, some much more so that others, in the last couple of years. We live in a world that seems to be teetering on the brink. Add to that I can think of several aftermarket suppliers that threw in the towel in the last couple of years that everyone would assume to be around . . . well . . . forever.
Sorry for the ramble, but BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) if you see it and you like/want it, better to go ahead and buy it.

Apologies for the rant and/or ramble,

Warren

PS: After looking at the AGO, I think I'll pass. It's a bit too esoteric for me, but it has spurred me to go ahead and find the Alb. C.III and LVG which reflect my interests.

Darn it!  I missed the late camo version.  The other two versions are on a boat already.  I'll order the late camo, another Dolphin and some lozenge today.

Thanks Brad. I recently purchased the Late version with tri-color cammo. It looks to be a nicely molded kit that should build up well.  I have also built the CMR kit but that was years ago.  I really hope this run is successful enough for KP to continue further releases of esoteric kits.
