Hi all,
Before I delve into my Wingnuts stash, I’m just finishing off some other projects, this one representing RR232 operating commercially out of Goodwood. This will be in their reception…
Super kit, great fun to build.
Thanks,
Guy

Fantastic!! Warbirds are my wheelhouse and I have a local Mk.IX (https://flic.kr/s/aHsmUPtEm3) earmarked for my eventual build of this kit, so it's wonderful to see yours. Lovely work!
What did you use for the belts?
-
Hi Zac,
It’s a great kit, really good fun to build, it didn’t fight me at all… a pussycat.
I used a car model seatbelt material from Hiroboy - to be honest, I was a bit disappointed it was brighter than advertised, like a Christmas ribbon! But it does look good in situ I think.

Ps forgot to put the bubble canopy on.. doh

Brilliant job on your Spit, Guy!
Is it a nice kit to build?
Regards
Dave

It’s lovely Dave, no vices at all..
The stressed skin effect is brilliantly rendered..

Beautifully done Spitfire! A very clean build of what I am sure is a Very Clean original!

Lovely, precise work Guy. I have the kit in my stash and was blown away by the quality of the parts. If comes out even half as good as yours I will be very happy!

One of the rare cases where Airfix choosing 1/24 can be a help! Perhaps some kind of wash might take it down a shade or two - I'm more thinking aloud for my own project rather than picking apart yours, I hope you'll understand!
-
Not a huuuuge Spitfire fan (sorry!) but that looks great. That'll surely have a presence at 1/24 scale!

That really looks the part, Guy. Nice for it to be displayed near the real thing. Hopefully with the sliding bubble part 😉 The City of Exeter decals came from where?
Cheers,
Gary

Thanks Gary, luckily FAF helped me out, I wouldn’t have a clue!

But as always... you can lead a horse to water...
Having masks and decals isn't the same thing as automatically achieving a good result. So part me, and a big part of Guy's handywork!

Re-read my own post and, if it wasn't clear, I think that Guy has done a fantastic job with the model and the painting of camouflage and markings! 🙂
Guy happens to be one of the best users of masks I know of. It's not just about having masks, it's the use of them that counts.
Cheers Fredrik

Ah shucks Fredrik,
You’re making me blush now :D
