Completing another of my favorite subjects - sailplanes, I have here the SZD-8 Jaskolka sailplane in 1/48 scale from Ardpol. This resin kit is from the early 2000s, and with Ardpol out of business, their kits are becoming quite hard to find.
This high performance sailplane was designed in the very early 1950s in Poland and did well, garnering 15 world records from 1954 to 1960. It had unique features for the time, such as a sliding plexiglass canopy and semi-retractable main wheel.
On to the pictures...

This is the 9th sailplane in my collection, with a couple more to come.

Such an elegant shape, I can see why you are a big fan of this type of aircraft. The model is, as always from you, beautifully built and finished.

That is a real beauty. Looking at it brings the memory of that hiss of the glider passing by. Gorgeous!
-
Looks like one could climb in and sail away! Neat subject.

Wonderfully neat and immaculately finished.

Thanks all, for the supportive comments.
Nearing completion of the next one.

Something you don't see modelled often -sharp work!

Again - another sharp looking addition to your collection. I can just hear the wind swooshing by (used to be an air cadet many years ago!).
Cheers,
Gary
