Wow that is exciting. I'm especially taken with the Fairey IIID. I wonder if they could be persuaded to print some of the main parts in 1/144 for me..? :D

Great news for the small scale modeler (my eyes are not as good as it used to be to build these scales) ;D

What an interesting line up of products. I had never heard of them. The Spit stuff is nice too. Where is 3D printing going to lead this hobby?

Thanks Willem.
I've been following Hobartville Hobbies for a while, my main interest is their Armstrong Whitworth FK.3 which is not available by any other manufacturer.
The Airco DH.6 is not new but the Sopwith Buffalo is, and that's good news.
Two things about their models keep me a little less than enthusiastic: They seem crude (the rib detail on the wings will have to be removed and recreated and so will other parts), and they are not cheap. Of course 3D printing can not be cheap but the price + shipping from Australia are something to be considered.
The Buffalo looks better, though.
Has someone here built any of their kits and can share his experience?

The Sopwith Buffalo

My interest is the DH.6 but after doing the math in Euro's it is about 100 € together for the kit + shipping + paypal fee + taxes + customs fees.
That's a little pricy for me for just one 1/72 kit...
:(

Willem, agreed. I'm going to have to save up my pennies for a while and order 3 or 4 kits at once.
Enathan, Formaplane did the A.W. F.K.3.

Thanks Stuart, I didn't know Formaplane did an F.K.3.

I haven't build one myself, but here's a build log (in Dutch) by RobH:

Might get a better impression on what's there and how it looks?

Thanks Jeroen! This does give a better impression of the kit.
