Title: 1/72nd scale WWI era aircraft kits
Post by: Stuart Malone on February 10, 2023, 05:58:38 AM
Friends,

Here is a .pdf file of kits in 1/72nd scale.  I had posted this on 'The List' many years ago.  This is mainly a quick reference, not a full catalog.  There are several instances of kit makers that did a series of variants, some did not.  If the kit did not specify it was put in the general aircraft type.  I have updated and re-verified most of it this past month to get it current.  Here it is for your reference.  Please send me a PM if I have errors or omissions and I will update the file.

Stuart

That's one heckuva list Stuart, quite a labor of love. Thank you!

Hmmmm, now I have to keep an eye out for an Omega SPAD VII C.1. :)

I posted a similar list here quite a few years ago while Des was still here, although I haven't updated it for new releases yet.

I remember some of these defunct names! Reminds me that I have a few stashed in storage that I haven't accessed in over a decade.

Ian,

If you still have your list, I'd be happy to go through it and incorporate it into this one.  You can send it to my email in my profile.

It's posted as 3 separate posts here.

I had to split it because it was too big for one post. I can send you the list if you like when I get home so you add it here. It took me nearly 30 minutes to find it!

Ian,

I grabbed your list from the posts.  Ehud was also kind enough to send me his compilation.  I am currently cross-referencing, collating, combining his info.  I will do the same with yours and update the link.

Thanks to both of you for sharing your research.  I hope this helps other modelers in their endeavors.

Hey, for all you 1/72ers out there... which planes do you think are presently underrepresented or deserve updated kit?

All the pushers, especially early Farmans. Bleriot XI, Taube, Deperdussin, basically any early WWI type including the early German B and C types.
