Title: Laminating and Carving Scale Wooden Propellers

Does anyone here make their own wooden props?  I am curious if you would share your technique, materials, best references, and etc.

Tony,
     It's been more then ten years since I posted that Tutorial, I can't believe how quickly the time has past. I still carve most of my props but have changed the technique significantly. I now hand carve right from step one using a couple of #11 or 12 blades, use a Dremel tool with a small sanding drum to work the contours around the prop hub and hand sand the rest with paper and sanding sticks. If you check out the photos here on pages 13 to 16 you should be able to follow the sequence.

    My "go to" source of veneers recently stopped marketing the stuff but an online search should provide some alternatives. If you have any questions at all don't hesitate to contact me.
