Title: 1/48 Fokker D VII models?
Post by: phil2015 on February 04, 2023, 01:37:42 PM
Not sure where to post this....

I see that Eduard is about to come out with a Fokker D VII profipack.  Looking at scalemates, this is a fairly old kit.  Is it a good kit?  I think Roden also makes one in 1/48.  Anyone built both?  Pros and cons of either?

They're both good kits. The Roden kit is slightly more accurate, but the Eduard kit is more detailed and easier to build. Roden offer a D.VIIF kit too.

I built the Roden kit and it went together well but with one exception. I didn't like the panels that are on either side of the engine, they were too thick. Despite much sanding I was not happy with the end result. My opinion is this, if you want to build one with the side panels off (engine exposed) then get the Roden  kit. Otherwise go for the Eduard.
