Title: RAF Wire Attachments
Post by: Captain Slower on November 22, 2022, 08:03:21 AM
Japanese modeler Nakashima Shinki shared his method of creating RAF wire clevises and mounting brackets.  The clevises are formed out of .5mm tubing.  He glues the flat RAF wire in one side and lets the other slide float inside the clevis with the humidity.

The mounting plates would probably lend themselves to a great photo etch sheet!  I am thinking a generic sheet with sufficient plates to attach clevises to the wing.  Easier that hand making each piece.

If I designed a sheet, is there a photoetching service to do this?

Interesting process. Design the sheet, draw it on brass and get some photo etchant from an electronics store? Back in the day Radio Shack carried it.....I'd buy some off ya ;)
