Hey Squadron,
I am new to the forum and returning to plastic models after a hiatus of half a century. I have built a few stick and tissue models, low and mid power rockets, as well as some buildings for a planned model trolley layout. Saturday I went to the National Capital Model Soldier Society convention in Springfield, Virginia. Not knowing what to expect I did not know if there would be vendors there or not I was delightfully surprised to see that there were lots of model kits available for sale. I picked up 7 kits. I know the reputation of the Smer kits is borderline suspect but they were all cheap. At $20 the Gotha was the most expensive. I have had my eye open for that for some time. One of the Smer Fokker DR1s was free because the seller didn't know if it was complete or not. For the 7 kits I dropped $70 and another $5 for the 3 books. I am happy with my haul. Being that the kits were cheap it might be good for me to practice and learn how to use an airbrush.
I am currently working on the Fitter's paper kit for the SE5a and Fokker DVII... "Nickchen" which is free at papermodelers.com.
Love reading everyone's posts.

The Smers look like Eduard re pops apart from the Camel. The Voison is a nice little gem!

Good haul. That Voisin alone has gone for near $70 on eBay at times.

That’s a nice catch, worthy of some jealousy :)

Wow, I see that. You comment made me go look for the Voisin card model which I am pretty sure I will buy.
