Dear all,
Completed Eduard's (weekend edition) excellent Fok. DVII kit. Brilliant fit on this kit - the only (likely me as the rest of this is superb) issue I ran into was carefully aligning the cabane struts to ensure a straight wing fit.
Built straight form the box and finished in the markings of Lt R Kurt Monnington, Jasta 18, Montoy-Flanville, France, August 1918.

Wonderful job! I have a few of these waiting for me.

can those kits actually be built in a weekend?

Dave,
Very nice build. The Eduard D.VII and the Arma E.V are probably the best two 1/72 kits available. Both are a joy to build.

Thank you, ladies and gentleman
can those kits actually be built in a weekend?
PJ - I've never built one in a weekend - not sure why they call these that other than to distinquish the fact there are no masks or PE parts provided.

Wonderful build Dave. Jasta 18 birds are definitely noticeable! I have a few of these Edward kits so maybe someday I’ll add a D-VII to my builds. Hoping it looks as nice as yours.

Gorgeous Work Dave! I always have to Marvel at the Fact that your Builds are Hand Painted with a Brush!!

I'm a sucker for a nice D.VII and this is a very nice one, great work Dave!

Famous last words but I'd give it a go with a D.VII. The DH.2 I have in the stash, however, feels like false advertising ;D

Cheers, Rick and Zac!

Brilliant work. Thanks for shooting and sharing!

Very nice! Those red noses are truly eyecatchers.

Superb model Dave. The finish is, as always, top notch especially as you have used a hairy stick. Looking forward to seeing this at the weekend.
Stephen.

If others hadn’t pointed it out, I would never have guessed it’s brush painted. I especially like the propeller :)

Yes, they actually can - if your selected paint scheme isn’t too complicated that is. This is probably the easiest 1/72 kit I’ve built of a Great war type and I’m rather embarrased about how many I’ve bought. But as he said (it’s not only you, Dave )the cabane struts may need a bit of a talking to, but is easy enough if you glue the N-struts first, then, when attaching the cabane with lots of ends, glue only a few of those ends at a time.

Thank you!
Yes, all my models are painted by brush

A real eye-popper, Dave!
Great smooth coverage for a brush painted kit. Used to be relatively easy with old formula (lead) paints but needs a lot of skill with the modern stuff. Excellent work.

Dave,
Very clean build and excellent brush mastery. I am quite envious.

If you're worried you have a problem I'm happy to forward my address and ease your burden ;D

Hi Dave, way to go! The modeling world needs more 1/72 Fokker DVIIs! The Eduard kit is excellent, I have a couple in progress. That is a nice color scheme. Cool!

Thank you all kindly gentleman. The model actually looks sharper and cleaner in the flesh - the close up photos really show all the flaws!

Hi Dave, just catching up after a lengthy absence, it's lovely to see your finely honed skills being put to good use. This is a real beauty finished with your signature brush painting perfection.
All the best
