Edgar at Copper State Models has assured forum members development of their much anticipated new 1/32 scale Bristol Scout kit is well advanced.
He says if all goes well they will start the tooling in September and hope to have test shots by late October.
No fixed release date has been set yet, given global supply chain issues. However Edgar says if Copper State are very lucky, the Bristol Scout kit may be ready by the end of this year.

Hope it's OK to post this link. Looks like it's available to pre order.

Yes, full details are now up on the CSM site.
I have placed my pre-order.
Can’t wait to get this one, but sounds like it will be an Easter present rather than a Christmas present.

It's going to be worth the wait, I hope it sells like hot cakes for them. The Bristol Scout is one of my all time favourites.

Dave W's just sent through the box art as he's unable to post at the moment:

A post on Facebook from CSM (https://www.facebook.com/copperstatemodels/posts/pfbid02L4bjDnodkk3mhFtLHqy6WVCBZckAGyaWTphJ5tqqRyA9gsbaxno61ApXi48vbm3jl):
We hope the Ehrhardt was just in time for the Armoured car guys.
But now it is time for 1/32 lovers, so with this message, we are opening a pre-order for our Bristol Scout C, which for the first time will be limited.
https://www.copperstatemodels.com/page/product_info/331/
The reason is very simple.
Our choice for the next 1/32 model was inspired by David Bremner who with friends built an airworthy replica of Type C Bristol Scout, serial no. 1264, in which his Grandfather fought in WWI, including some original parts. This Bristol Scout was made using original factory drawings and David shared these materials with us to create the very accurate 3d model which we are now proudly presenting today.
David regularly displays 1264 at airshows in the UK and elsewhere.
The original fabric was fitted in 2014 and was used when David was able to fly 1264 from the exact spot his grandfather flew from exactly 100 years later. After four years, degradation from UV and castor oil from the engine required its replacement.
This fabric was made and fitted exactly like the original, and David has shared some of that linen with us which will be included in the pre-ordered kits.
Pre-order version will include
- High-quality Cartograf decals with markings for several aeroplanes, at least 3 (one of them with PC10 and also Dope Linen)
- 111 high-quality injection moulded plastic parts
- Two versions of the Lewis MG mount and bombs
- 5 photo-etched metal detail parts
- Full rigging diagram
- Highly detailed Gnome Lambda 80 HP and Le Rhone 80 HP engine (only for Pre-order version)
- An original piece of fabric (size A6) from David Bremner`s Bristol Scout C
Pre-order period - 15 DEC 2022 till FEB/MAR 2023 (that is when we are planning to receive plastic)

Apologies for being a bit of a pillock!

Cannot wait, ordered 2 yesterday and got free shipping!!!! Thank you Edgar
-
I'd love to order two, but bl**dy UK customs would add 20% VAT plus another bl**dy great handling fee, so it's just not worth it. I'll buy one as soon as it hits these shores (and wait for the inevitable Scout D to follow!)
Sandy
P.S. thanks Richie for making the modelling gods sit up and take notice, with your lovely scratch build.😃

I’ve never been pinged by customs on Latvian post from csm. Others report the same.

That's encouraging Dave, must admit I'm basing comments on purchases from NZ, USA etc, never bought direct from Latvia. Maybe bang in an order - Cheers

Great model Richie!! Can you scratch build a 1/32 Bolton Paul Defiant please?

Anyone know if aircraft number 1611 flown by Hawker, will be one of the marking options?

We will offer at least 3 machines
1255 (3 markings for this serial)
1264 (David Bremner replica of his GrandDad machine, both engines are included in the pre-order version)
1611 (Hawker)

Ordered, but just one ;)

Modified RNAS roundel at 1915 - previously it had no blue centre.
Eventually the RNAS used the RFC roundel.
The RFC had the normal roundel.

Nice job! That is not the work of a pillock. Now, if you can ingratiate yourself further with the modelling gods, would you mind knocking out a 1/32 Halberstadt D type, please?

On Facebook, Copper State posted:
"Many of you were asking, what is the status of our Bristol Scout C, well, we are now starting the packing of the kits, finally, everything is here. If all goes well we will finish the sending on Monday 13th. Those who have supported us will get some additional items, like were mentioned earlier, once again thank you for your interest in what we are doing."

Thank you Sagamore. :)

Erratum!
I still have not got any email with shipping info. But I have just entered my account in CSM and found out that in fact my Scout was shipped on Sat. March 10th as registered priority mail! And it is already in Warsaw. I suppose I will get it in 2 days at the most!
Great service, Edgar!!!!! Many thanks!

My two shipped on the 14th also. Edgar has been staying out of trouble with all the work he is doing (just joking about trouble)

The eagle has landed! First impressions cannot be better. A couple of fine plastic sprues with finely detailed elements, a small PE fret, top class decals, usual high standard extensive instructions, fine selection of colour options and that fine bonus for preorders - a piece of doped linen from airworthy replica. All in all another fantastic kit from CSM! Very highly recommended! I only wish I had a few parallel lives to build this one alongside Caudron and Lukgraph Lohner...

Although I'm not a major fan of the type I always enjoy seeing NZ's resident replica fly and I am very, very excited to see everyone's builds take shape on the forum! I'm very happy for you all!

It looks like a lovely kit, I am so looking forward to seeing it the kit arriving in the completed models section.
Richie

When I received the e-mail at about the same time the postman showed up :D
I can only echo PrzemoL's opinion, it looks great. The Nieuports looked great as well, but this does look like it's even better at first glance. I don't have this very often, but this model makes me want to clear the modelling desk and start snipping parts off sprues immediately...

Hi Richie,
Yes as soon as the Hannover Cl.II is finished.
I'm to build the Bristol Scout C for Theo Willford.
Theo along with David Bremner (owner and pilot) and his brother Rick researched and over 14 years built the only airworthy Bristol Scout (1264).
David's passion was to build his Grandfathers Scout 1264 that he flew during WW1.
F.D.H. Bremner flew with No.2 Wing (RNAS) from Dec 1915 to Aug 1916, at Imbros, off the Gallipoli peninsula, and at Thassos, a Greek island off the coast of Bulgaria.
David was also heavily involved with Edgar and his team at Copper State Models, in creating an accurate model of the Scout.
I'm going to see David and 1264 when they fly at a show at the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden, Bedfordshire, UK.
That'll give me a chance to see and photograph 1264 close up and to actually sit in the cockpit (I'm the same height as David at 6' 3").
So now I'll need to build two Scouts, as I'll want one for my collection,
Mike

Here is a link to some photos on this website of some reference photos I took for my scratch build of 1264 a few years ago.

If you click on any of the images it should take you to my album on Flikr which has more pictures. Feel free to download and use any of the photos if they are at all helpful.
The book Rebuilding Grandad's Aircraft is fantastic and the DVD is well worth watching too.

Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of Copper State Models' booth, but Edgar posted at least one on CSM's FB page. I took pics of WnW kits at the show, posted them on the WnW-fans FB page.

My was delivered today here in South Carolina. Wow -- What a Lovely Kit!
If anyone was on the fence about ordering directly from Copper State -- don't hesitate. Excellent service and (especially considering the distance) quick delivery.

A 3 week postal journey to Australia, so very quick in postal terms.
What a wonderful model kit as well. Well done Copper state models and congratulations.

CSM have been hitting it out of the park. If they did a Hanriot HD1 I think it would get good returns and be nice to have this done in 1/32. ;D

Collected mine from my LMS yesterday. Really impressed with this noting the price was similar with Roden, No contest. The problem is, how many do I buy. Answers on a postcard please
