Title: First test flight Nieuport 28 - Mikael Carlson !
Post by: Umlaufmotor on May 26, 2022, 05:21:20 AM
"Watch the meticulously restored Nieuport 28 take off on its maiden flight. This is the only fully restored and flying N.28 in existence. The aircraft is painted in honor of WWI pilot Douglas Campbell who was the first American trained pilot to achieve the status of Ace during WWI. The Nieuport 28 will be transferred to the American Heritage Museum in Massachusetts where it will be on display and operate during select living history events."

Pilot is Mikael Carlson, first test flight with Nieuport 28
In Sweden from his private airfield behind his hangar.
Have fun  ;)

Wow! Thanks for sharing.
His rate is impressive - one year, one new aircraft?
Another nice livery to paint my Nieuport 28  :)

Cheers,
Frank

Great flying, beautifully restored aeroplane! The footwork on the rudder pedals during takeoff and landing is phenomenal....

I too was drawn to the very apparent "footwork"; it takes a special skill set to handle these very sensitive machines I suspect. Great video which I much enjoyed, thanks for posting this Bertl.
Cheers,

I'd had no idea he was working on this project until the first video was posted. Absolute magic! I expect the owners will be very pleased with this lovely machine.

I'd love to watch him in his Dr.I and D.VII - and the Pfalz, for that matter - in person one day.
