Here is my current project. I am planning to build one of the oldest flying DH82As, G-ACDC, in its burgund red livery.

The work on cockpit is over. I have used Eduard PE sets, and also added some linkages and missing handles for fuel valve.

Very nice, Przemo! I'm going to enjoy this build! There is definitely one in my future too! Regards, Marc.
-
Very good start. Reminds me very much of the Bucker Bu 131 I built.
-
Thank you Marc and Kensar.
Now the focus is on Gipsy Major engine. I plan to open the carburettor side panel to show the detail, so some missing items have to be added - oil, fuel and electric installations especially. The other side will be closed but still some details will be seen through the front opening in the cowling. The bits are ready for airbrush.

I have also repainted the compasses into grey and corrected the anchor points for rear cockpit lap seatbelts.

Nice detail work. Those seatbelts look great.
-
Thank you, kensar. The belts are prepainted PE from Eduard, very much recommended.
And in the recent days I have finished working on Gipsy Major engine. The carb side will be open, the oil tank side - closed.

Good work!
I wonder if I might have flown in that plane once?! It was red and said to be the oldest flying Tiger Moth at the time... Good choice anyway!

Thanks, Fredrik.
Well, it is quite possible, I have heard this one is the oldest DH82a still flying :-) And it changed livery many times, being more fire-brigade-red too, as depicted in the new Airfix 72nd scale kit.

This is shape up awesome so far Pzre !

Thank you, Alexis and Bob.
And here is more. The body is done. So are the doors and the engine panel made from the connection of thinned kit parts and PE bits. The exhaust painted and ready to be attached. The control horns are from Ed PE, except for the aileron ones which are made far too flat. Also the fittings for the upper elevator cable and the completely neglected very evident connections between the lower wing and the fuselage - these from scratch.

Fantastic finish, that red and silver suit her really well.

I've always admired the little Tiger Moth Prze, and you are doing a wonderful
job building it. By the way, the colour is gorgeous! Well done, my friend...more,
please sir! ;D
Ernie :)
-
Thank you, I am glad you like my Moth...
And it is almost ready. Just four bits including the prop and four aileron cables to be connected to the stick lever under the fuselage.

That's beautiful, P.
Very well realised.
Used to see lots of Tiggies flying about, when I was a kid they were quite affordable! But they're much rarer these days. Great to see a nice model of one.

I feel like I could climb in there and close the door behind me! 8)

I agree with William: that is an incredibly realistic model. Suprb finish and details.
I have probably seen that machine in the air many times as it is based at Headcorn - only a few miles from where I live - and frequently seen over Leeds Castle which is even closer to my home.
Stephen.
-
Thank you for your kind comments.
Especially nice to hear them from someone who saw this aircraft live!
Actually, I felt weird, when I prepared the label for the base, the one with the year -2006. So unusual for me, who usually build models of aircraft which flew 100 years ago ;)
-
Another fine build to add to your collection.
Well done, Prze!
Bob ;)
-
Excellent looking Tiger Moth. Opening the engine compartment makes an interesting view. The rose color seems a bit strange.
-
Thanks, Bob and Ken.
As for the red-pinkish colour, it is mostly the WB in my camera which is playing tricks. here are two more shots in varying light conditions.

Probably it is time to take off that old-fashioned camera and organize a proper photo session for the Moth.
-
Wow! That is a beautiful result, Przemo! One of my favourite aircraft of all time too! Very neatly done and stunning colour scheme! Regards, Marc.
-
Wonderful work on the 'moth, Prze! The camera doesn't hide your talents,
my friend. I am looking forward to your next project!
Cheers,
Ernie :)
-
Wow Prze !
Very fine work on this one :)

Thank you very much, Alexis, Marc and Ernie.

Beautiful job on this PrzmoL!
I'm currently building a 1:6.2 scale DH.82. And I'll be rapt if I can finish it half as nicely as this!
Cheers,
Hugh
-
Thank you, Hugh.
I will gladly see your huge model.
