Werner was chiding me for taking so long to get his F.1 ready and kept complaining about his Albatros.
I awarded him his Blue Max to keep him happy but still he kept peering in the Meng box and muttering archaic German swear words.
Finally the F.1 rolled off the production line and he kicked the tyres and stroked the gun butts.
I said I wanted to take his photo before he tried it out and he very ungraciously stuck his hand in his pockets for the camera.
Huh! Think I'll make a few 56Sqdn SE5s next: that'll teach him.

I can see why he was a little reluctant and apprehensive ...The Blue Max is too big to wear around his neck . I'm also very aware of those german swear words ;) Heard them many times form my Grandfather when I was a little girl and I'm more then positive he learned them from his father !
Beautiful job on Meng's Tripe and I assure you , Voss is smiling on the inside Sandy ;)

Lovely set of Voss machines Sandy. I have both and the Pheon Decals beckoning at me from the Stash Shelf, this may help to get me going!

Is there a way to get those great teeny tiny pictures in a higher resolution/size?

Cheers Gene. I don't use a hosting service I'm afraid so the size/res is limited to the 128k max imposed by our (free) service provider here. They're phone camera pictures anyway so not great res to start with. Maybe get round to a hosting service at some stage - but thanks for the kind words meanwhile

Excellent, Voss triplane, Sandy.

Both models are very good indeed. Shame that Voss had to sulk a little while his photo was being taken, but then there sis no pleasing some!

Great work, Sandy. I've always been a big fan of Voss and his aircraft - your models look superb!

Great looking pair of models. I’ve been fond of the blue triplane ever since Revell used it on their 1970’s era box lid for the 1/28 kit.

As others have said, I like them both.

Many thanks for the kind words and encouragement, guys.
Regarding colours, I always think of McCudden's reference to a 'silvery blue' triplane, doubtless an effect of the strong sunshine at altitude. When I'd finished brush painting the green streaking, I felt the overall effect was a little dark, so gave it the lightest misting of a white top coat which happily gave me exactly what I thought JTB McC meant!

PS tried re-optimizing pics. Not sure if these are any better, still rater grainy I'm afraid

Can you not use free imgur.com (http://imgur.com) Very easy to use. Your work is too good to not be properly presented.

That's really kind of you, Gene, thank you. I'll give it a look.
