The Meng 1/24 scale Fokker Dr.1 kit has been released and is being advertised for sale at Lucky Model.

The retail is listed as $US61.99
The kit was originally in development for Wingnut Wings as part of a series of 1/24 scale kits they planned.
The distinctive boxart is by Steve Anderson who did all of the Wingnut Wings box art images.

Any hints about the decal/marking options? (It looks like Udet's machine on the cover?)...praying to Icarus for Jacobs, Kempf and Baumer.
Happy modeling,
Jason

Just hope they do an Albatros Dva. I can justify this.

I don't think, that Meng will develop an Albatros. The development of the Dr.I was done by WNW (both 1/32 and the new 1/24 series), Meng has "only" done the tooling (and may be finish it now). But a complete new research and development themself - never ever.
Cheers,
Frank

Yes your probably right Frank so as they say there are many more fish in the sea.

dreaming of an Albatros CX11.

Does anyone have this kit in hand yet, I would like to see pics of the plastic first :)

I think that the amount of sales will determine if Meng continues with WW1 subjects either in 1/32 or 1/24 scale. Money talks! ;)

The experience that Takom had with their range of WWI vehicles stops being too optimistic here, I‘m afraid.

So the # of this kit is QS-003.
Any info on 001 and 002? My feling is that since WNW started off the 1/32 line with 4 releases all at once, they would do the same here
Whole new round of Speculation and Guesses, I'll start of with Camel and a tie for Alb Dv/VA and Fok. D VII. with SE5/5a
So just maybe Meng will actually do more, as having just one kit in a series does not lead to more sales

In response to Dr.1 Ace / Ed.... I understand Wingnuts had three 1/24 scale kits initially planned, the Dr.1, Albatros D.Va and a Sopwith Camel.
Meng were only engaged to tool the Dr.1 as they were tooling the 1/32 scale kit too. The other two projects were with unknown tooling plants and I don't know at what stage they were when Wingnuts closed.
Meng are of course entitled to tool their own new WW1 kits and we can imagine sales of the 1/32 and 1/24 Dr.1s will influence where Meng goes in the future.
