Further reducing my stash of WNW kits. With this one on the bench there are only 8 left...
So, enjoying every moment of work on the best plastic in town. The interior bits almost ready to put them inside the fuselage. Not much added to the box contents, just a couple of fuel switches, a few visible control cables and soon the aerial wire and linkages for generator and throttle will follow.

Excellent work in the cockpit Prze !

What a beautiful cockpit. I love the painting of the chair. The instruments look great.
-
Always liked „Meerkatze“, Przemol! Will follow your build of my boyhood hero „Roland C.II“ eagerly!
Cheers! Richard
-
Thanks.
The cockpit complete with a few linkages added. It is now attached to the left fuselage half but it will not be closed before the engine is in place. So now for that Mercedes...

Mercedes D.III almost complete. It is my 7th, I know it by heart and could probably built it with blinded eyes... 😉

I missed this!! Beautiful progress!!!

Awesome details on the engine and the cockpit!

Thank you, everyone. Yesterday night I also managed to build the engine into the truss, which had to be detached from the left side fuse half to allow adding some weathering, a couple of fuel connections and the throttle linkage. Then the last glimpse and the fuse was closed. I suppose I will leave the engine covers off so that one can catch a glimpse of these engine details. Now for some minor treatment of seams.

Laser clean work, PrzemoL.

I have to say - again - I'm so impressed by your work on detailing the engine. Superb.
Cheers,
Gary

Many thanks, everyone for another bunch of kind comments.
And here I am in the preparation phase, for colours I mean. Cleaning of all the elements, filling gaps in joints, preparing rigging stations... Among the latter I decided to replace the flat imitations of turnbuckles in those fancy undercarriage rigging bits with Gaspatch parts. The rigging on this bird is not too complex, only 20 turnbuckles all around. I have also made some surgery with the engine covers, thinning them down. They will definitely be left aside the model except for the rectangular cover for carburettor inspection.
And now to wash the surfaces and warm up the airbrush!

After some days of play with airbrush I can finally present my colours for your acceptance. I always want to model something untypical, so I opted for this non pale blue Roland. What do you think about this pale cream/linen version?

Now for shading of the upper cross fields and some wash and to final assembly!

This is looking awesome Przemo! I really like the plain but interesting scheme! Unusual to see it in a CDL looking shade vs the usual bluish grey. Well done on all!
RAGIII

That is just stunning Pzre's ! I have never seen this shade on this scheme before . Just simply beautiful :)

Great paintjob, Przemo. I love the subtle shades of beige.

Looking fabulous- this kit and this version has been near the top of my ‘next project’ and you have done a great job. Inspiring as always! Cheers Matt

Thanks, I am glad you like the appearance of this Roland of mine.
Excellent rendition of the Whalfish

The upper exterior colour is the custom made mix - Vallejo Dark Sand and White in 1:2 ratio. It was inspired by the recipe given in WNW instructions for this optional colour version of Meerkatze, proposed there on the base of analysis of two photos of this aircraft, where it looked different than usual pale blue ones. The undersides are Pactra Mid Stone I usually use for linen colour. All delicately shaded - the upper side with pure Dark Sand and undersides with Beige Brown diluted with clear.

Prze - I find this custom colour very attractive indeed, and the way you've done your mottled appearance has enhanced the look very much. I'm very impressed by your work on this model, and it's given me a new interest in that particular kit. Outstanding!

Wow!

Some masterful colouring there, Przemo! A very realistic appearance and beautifully done... ATB, Marc

Thanks for you continuous support. And the Roland is almost ready, I just need to wait for the veneer propeller...

The color is what I am drawn to which is a great canvas for the decals and the subtle shading and weathering. A simple build and scheme but very nice. Paint the plastic prop as a place holder until the veneer one arrives. It could be awhile and it would be nice to see this at least a painted prop. You can do it Prez, your audience awaits.

Thank you, also for this proposal. Yet I hear that I am to get the veneers tomorrow at the latest. So over the weekend I should be able to add the final version of the propeller. I hope it is fine with the audience :)

What a great looking model (and aircraft)!

Thanks. The veneers are cut by KoTeBi. They already have some on offer.
https://swiatmodeli.eu/pl/c/Skala-132-133-135/372 (scroll the page down)
This particular Axial prop, the BoultonPaul for FE2b and Garuda for Fokker E.I should soon appear in the shop, too.
If you have some skills with computer graphics you can prepare the file with the prop outline, send it to the owner of the shop and it can be cut for you. He is happy to add more propellers to the offer.
-
These prop kits are a great idea; I'd be in for a stack of them if international postage from Poland was not prohibitively steep at the moment. Hopefully it will become more reasonable at some point.
