Not one of my best, the significance of this build is that it's finished!
This is the Amodel Nieport 16 presented as one of the aeroplanes used by Navarre in the defence of Verdun. It's pretty much OOB apart from using a Roden engine, and the modifications to represent the Alkan synchronised Lewis gun

I started with the Albert Ball kit, which meant none of the decals were appropriate. So the roundels are painted, and the tail markings are made of from all sorts of left overs. Including a Mustang...

I do not know the reason but i just had to switch to browsing with edge instead of chrome to view photos in a thread on completed models. I will check yours out and report.

PS: The photos show fine using Microsoft Edge but not using Chrome. It seems there was an issue like this previously and someone suggested how to fix?
By the way Richard, the Nieuport is Beautiful! Lovely work in all aspects. I Love the scheme! Is that a 17 in the background?

Yes, that's an Academy Nie 17 I built some time ago. I was interested in how the sizes compare. Just a bit more wingspan

Check out The threads on posting photos to the Forum. The issue May have been addressed there? Just for the record the photos still show and look great on Edge!

Nicely done. I have a kit and was thinking of finishing it in this scheme.
As to being able to view the images, I cannot see the images when I use Google Chrome but I do see them when I use Microsoft Edge or Firefox.
I notice that the images are hosted on a web site / page that shows as being not secure ( i.e. HTTP vs HTTPS ).
I seem to recall that Google Chrome had some changes with respect to non secure sites. Perhaps it is the combination of cross linking from a secure site i.e. https://forum.ww1aircraftmodel (... etc ) to a non secure site i.e. http://www.primrose- ( ... etc ) which is causing the issue with Google Chrome ?
I tried just viewing the individual images with Chrome by copying an image's url while viewing in Microsoft Edge and the image views normally in Chrome which makes me wonder if the problem lies with cross posting comment I described just above.
I have tried changing some of the privacy and security settings in Chrome to no avail, perhaps I just haven't found that magic combination yet.
It is indeed frustrating, particularly when when you just can't put your finger on the problem so that it can be fixed.

I'm at a complete loss over this, I've no idea how to sort it out
I have checked my other threads, and the images are gone in those as well. The work to move them to another server would be huge, but not as big as editing all the image links
It looks like I've lost my ability to post images

Hope that a solution to this can be found , edge works for some , but others it doesn't . However this is effecting us in the long run .

I just tried a few things, but to no avail as it happens... However, these things seem to be true...
- I can see your images in Chrome if I insert the image link directly into the browser. So it appears not to be Chrome as such.
- There is no apparent difference between my image links and yours. So the http: versus https: doesn't seem to be relevant.
- If I make a new post with one of my links and one of yours. My picture shows, yours don't...
Could the problem be with the forum software somehow?

Don't think it has anything to do with the forums software , if so this would be accuring more and I'm sure Dave would have investigated on the root cause .
I wonder if the issue is with the photo hosting sites themselves ?
Or the server itself on those hosting sites ?

But my images are not on a HTTPS site and they work?! Or did misunderstand something?!

A very beautiful build, Richard. It looks very neat and authentic... I am struggling with this kit at present, not sure if I can actually get it together, but yours is certainly motivation! BTW, I can see your photos both at home and work on different computers and both using Google Chrome... Regards, Marc.

A few things about the kit
I didn't try and bend the seat back, I cut a new one out of plastic card
I didn't try to bend up that fuel tank - I cut out the sides and made up a new tank using card. I had to modify the tank anyway to take the drive for the Alkan synchronising gear
The bottom of the fuselage came out concave! I partly filled the cavity with a triangle of plastic, then bonded a complete strip of plastic right along the bottom of the fuselage.
If you try to use a Roden engine, it doesn't fit in the cowling. Making that cowling in two halves is a rotten trick!
I couldn't get the wing and struts to work at all. In the end, I drilled the ends of the struts (all of them) and fitted wire pins. Then it all worked, although the vee struts in front of the cockpit have come out wonky (don't look)
