Jasta Colors: Volume 1 by Bruno Schmalling. This looks like a very good book.

I've just finished reading this book as well, James, comparing the subject matter presented to the works of other authors in my humble library along the way, and I'll second your "wow" and raise you one "gadzooks!" (Review forthcoming)
