The Meng Fokker is a lovely build -- everything fits swimmingly...and the Aviattic decals feel like cheating.

Now that is some very fine work indeed , even if it feels like cheating ! :)

I have to agree with Terri! Lovely results!

Why does it feel like cheating? It looks good and that's what counts.

Looks very nice. We use Lozenge decals vice painting the lozenge, why would using streaking decals be any different? I tried streaking and it didn't look nice, so I use the decals. The results are what matters and your results look as good as any I've seen. What did you use to tone down the green?

Here's my technique:
1. Primer
2. Tamiya light tan spray
3. Gloss coat (floor polish)
4. Aviattic decal (let dry for 24 hours)
5. Tamiya clear flat coat spray
6. Raw umber oil (Master's Touch artist oils), glob it on then wipe it off...leaves nice deeper raw umber shade (and
nuances the green/brown colors).
7. Tamiya clear flat coat spray (seals in the oil, in prep for....)
8. Tamiya clear semi-gloss spray (gives it that clear doped sheen, imitating photos)
9. Add a few oil stains (imitating photos) with Citadel Shade (stolen from my son's
Warhammer paint stash).
In retrospect, I could have gone for a lighter color undercoat, but I think it turned out okay. Will post completed
shots on the Forum in a week or two.
