Title: MENG FOKKER F.I
Post by: rlrimell on November 28, 2020, 01:56:43 AM
Hi Guys,

Here is the first of a possible seven Triplane builds destined for our upcoming two volume set on modelling Dreidecker kits in 1:32. They will include detailed Meng builds in semi-Wingnut instruction manual style, lots of new photos and Ronny Bar profiles plus various related topics and some little-modelled features that we think will be of interest. The Voss machine will form the subject of a detailed painting discourse combined with a unique diorama that may settle the cowling colour controversy-or perhaps start a new one! More updates over coming weeks as I make my way through the plastic... ;)

Cheers,

Ray R.

Very nice, becomes highly realistic when pictured in the hangar.

I have been following this on your FB page and must say I really Love your beautiful rendition of the Voss Triplane. Looks great in the Hanger. I also like that you are depicting F1 103/17 before the cowling was painted yellow and the Face was added  ::)

Excellent work as always Ray and a wonderful teaser for the gems we know will be contained in the pages of your two Dreidecker publications. I have two Meng kits and a Roden Dr.1 all sitting patiently twiddling their wings awaiting the arrival of your publications before I dare inflict pain upon the plastic.

Your progress teaser photos are wonderful, but that Voss cowling.. dark green.... that will set off the "yellow cowl" brigade! :)

We look forward to more of your progress photos!

I have a sneaky feeling Ray may be able to settle the cowling controversy, but await the build guide to see whether the myths are finally dispelled.....

I am pretty sure I know where Ray stands. That being said there can be No Real settlement of the controversy unless a signed and certified, Co signed, etc. report surfaces  :o

Put three pots of paint beside Voss and a mechanic figure. Tops should be off one yellow and the other green... that will set everyone off lol...

Seriously though very nice build. Can’t wait for the books to be published...
